I'm sure its nothing to do with having the same agent as Derek, Joe Duffy and a multitude of other RTE 'stars'.

Didn't that one of the Fitzpatrick's that was on recently hawking her book mention she also has the same agent.

Didn't hear it but there's nothing unusual about a traveller playing golf unless you meant a Traveller.

Usually, he'd be on gushing about it, but I haven't heard a peep.
In fairness, I haven't been listening all the time........

I was wondering as well.. the tickets didnt sell as quick as they did previously, but I think that is just cos Mooney is going back to the well too often.. He's been off the last two weeks so nobody knows what happened on the night. Was anybody here at it?

Just heard Rory Cowan likening Mrs Brown's Boys to some of the classic comedies ! And again he sees Brendan O'Carroll as a writer in the genre of John B Keane & GB Shaw ! How deluded is this guy !!
Classic comedy in my book was Dave Allen, Morecambe & Wise, Dads Army, Fr Ted etc etc, wouldn't classify MBB as being in the same league at all !
Again today RTE via The Mooney Show giving the MBB movie 30 minutes of free publicity, Joe Duffy did almost an hour of the same yesterday !!
Is this what taxpayers are funding RTE for ? Does RTE have a stake in the MBB franchise or something ??

In discussing MBB , Rory Cowan and Derek Mooney were talking up the show in the context of other "classic comedies" a la Fr Ted, Fawlty Tower, also I think Billy Connolly, Les Dawson (can't remember the others mentioned) and also that Brendan O'Carroll could be considered to be a great writer in the same way as John B Keane & George Bernard Shaw !!!
Maybe others who listened can confirm !

Just an update from the red carpet... Myself, Harry and Welsh Megaman went down to the premiere in the Savoy tonight... Harry and WMM were stopped by Brendan O'Carroll's security who told them they werent "the right sort of people".... I, however flashed my "working class" credentials with a swift snot rocket while waiting in line and got straight in without any bother...

lol... Shur Derek's on a fortune in there ... 220k.. Cant see how he would have any right to portray RTE as being miserable... If they are being miserable to other staff members then it's only cos the top level take so much of the funding.
