    Shaky enough start for Joe.

    Pure rubbish.

Like watching us pre the run (since the league quarters)

When the ball comes into our backs you're expecting a goal chance or score every time)

When we puck it forward our men are outnumbered.

It's like we have a man less in defence and attack.

Two times Callanan got blocked down and was able to regather and score.
Should have been swarmed on the block down each time.

I'd be looking towards Johnny Glynn pretty soon if I was MD, need someone up there who'll make it stick or take a grab as that's the only way we're going to get a goal and we'll need one today.

What a winner... he had such an average game as well and to hit that shot... wow.

What a finish by Joe. We didnt play great all the game, very rusty after the five week lay off and it showed, but we still scored 22points and missed a few other scores, semi finals are there to be won and we did that. These 1 point games against Tipp would leave the ticker in bits.

If memory serves me right there's 4 from the last 5 disregarding 2014 and including 2010.

There probably has never been a collection of games where 4 times from 5 meetings it went down to the last puck and one in it.

Very impressive, rare to have such big men who can hurl too. Strong favourites for the final based on that, if ye can overcome the inevitable jitters that a famine brings.

Deserved victory for Galway based on the second half display.

MOMT for me - was Conor Whelan, an absolute gem of a player. McInerney a close second...

I hope Galway win the thing now.

Mcinerney got it and rightly so!!!
Joe scored 0.11 only played middling but gave some solid ''shoulders''and didn't
waver when it matter most in the final 10 minutes.
Hope ye go all the way now!!!

Delighted with the win. Not a great performance, sluggish start and a soft goal conceded with 3 great squandered goal chances but the grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory mentality seems to have been banished by MD. My enjoyment greatly enhanced by a bitter Tipp fan who moaned about each and every free Galway were giving and telling us we'd bribed Kelly.

Moving Mc to centre-half back has been a revelation in fairness to management and the man himself. He went off for a couple of minutes for Lally and you could tell the backs were shaky. He deserved MOTM.

John Hanbury has stepped up immensely since Killeen was injured. He was our best fullback for a very long time.

Joseph Cooney continued his excellent Wexford game form.

    Johnny Coen was much improved.

Whelan was fantastic again and is our most awkward forward to mark.

Big criticism today would be that the handpassing was brutal at times today. Either dropped too short or given too late. Can't excuse that for a 5 week break.

Looks like Tuohy might be in trouble over a helmet pull unfortunately and TSG made sure to pinpoint it while also describing it as a dodgy rule.

That Joe Canning point was one of the greatest scores I've seen in my 15 years of following Galway teams. To score that after missing some handy frees and looking injured is amazing.

    Let the ticket hunt begin!

I second these sentiments. I dont think the scoreline done Galway's performance justice today. Far the better side. Deserving winners. I think ye will win the Liam McCarthy now

Also this is a really beautiful picture with Canning and his mother who was battling cancer a while back.

    Puts everything into perspective.

Would be amazed if he's done for that. No way to prove it was intentional. Tuohy was looking in the opposite direction. Even if he's charged I couldn't see it going through the appeals process.

nothing will happen , the sunday game for some reason have to be controversial , they have already destroyed the football championship , dont think hurling people will fall for it

ps why was there no one calling for a black card in hurling today after darren gleeson's brilliant but deliberate last ditch challenge where he took out the galway full forward

it wasnt exactly a million miles away from the cavanagh foul on mcmanus a few years back

chill pill needed all round if you ask me ;)

Thats because there is no black card rule in hurling. Its in football only.

He means the introduction of the black card

The black card in football is a shambles.

Referees don't know what they are doing half the time, sometimes they give it sometimes not, and the crowd know less.

Don't think you can blame the Sunday game for highlighting things. The problems lie in the rulebook and clarity on the pitch. Either strong direction from headquarters ala soccer or discretion of the ref but he is sheriff ala rugby.

Still, nasty from Des Cahill trying to get a young fella banned from his first all ireland final from a relatively harmless incident.
Cahill, after all lives off all these players who give their time for free.

Cahill is a taepot but the script was probably written for him.

Total farce even Jackie Tyrell said it

So when will we know the outcome
Rule book states the word deliberate clearly which was the opposite of what happened

Nothing was made of Donaghy choking a Galway player last week

That's got zero to do with it. I'm on about the wider lack of clarity.

If Touhy gets banned it is a disgrace - if this is even brought up before a board it is a disgrace. Nothing in it... - helmet stuff is dangerous but there are levels to the danger. This was not a dangerous incident. It was innocuous...

Did McInerney's father play for Galway some years back.?
