    Thanks Gardener 3.

LB, can't help with either of yours. Could be Dark Brocade, but can't rule out other species.

and Thanks Gardener for stepping in.
Caddis flies usually rest with antennae facing forward and almost parallel. There are some moth families that have forward facing antennae as well, but many of them are generally not doable by photo anyway

Good to see the numbers and species increasing thebishop.

I had a brown house moth in the house yesterday. Looking at the Mothsireland distribution map I see no records for Mayo. Could I be the first :D
I expect most people are more likely to squash it than identify and record it :(

 Surely there's not meant to be frost on the grass in June!

I hadn't expected any moths at all so I was very surprised to find a female Ghost Moth when I checked the sheet last night.
The trap contained a grand total of 2 moths - White Ermine and Heart and Dart.

I can't name it with confidence. Really need an overhead picture.
I feel Clouded Brindle is a possibility

    GMS week 16?

The trap is out, having rid it of the white shouldered house moths that had taken up residence. Another drizzly, cool and relatively blustery evening here so again I won't expect much in the morning.

Can't ID this one, had it down as a clouded-bordered brindle ab. Combusta, but the white markings don't fit (I think:confused:)

    Bright-line Brown-eye perhaps?

I do that all the time :D
I had the trap out last night and at a very quick glance this morning I can see I have some I don't recognise.
It's going to be a long morning!

My biggest catch last night :) with 48 moths, the bulk of which (34) were Heart and Dart. Also White Ermine x 4 and Dark Arches x 3 and one Grey Pug. There were also these below that I want to check.

Is this A Buff Ermine... with a few spots missing/ faded?

Stick like Moth.. is it a Red Sword Grass... but seems late? Wrong angle I now know
    (Edited to add-possibly Flame?)
