I might pick it up later in the week then I was flicking through the new 'mon on Serebii... I don't know whether to keep reading or just let it all be a surprise. I'm not that impressed with some of them but at least they're a bit less generic that the past few generations. Have Nintendo ever let players submit monsters? And looking_around, I agree with you, I really liked that feature I wish they kept it.

It happens to me in every generation. I always, i mean ALWAYS neglect the pokemon i catch and just have one fairly strong one.. I lost my first ever gym battle since i've played Pokémon.. Now im trying to train a Timburr and a Roggenrola. Taking it's sweet bejasus time aswell

To train quickly, run back and forth alongside a long but shallow stretch of grass (2-4 tiles deep) till one shakes, then go into that one and fight the chanseywannabe - it's worth a tonne more Exp. Works even better with Exp share since the exp earned is relative to the level gap between the receiver and the defeated pokemon.

Is there any benefit to stopping a pokemon evolving? My Lillipup was about to evolve but I stopped it as I like him the way he is. :pac:

Is there any upside to doing it? Can they learn different moves? I thought that was the case in previous incarnations but I could be wrong.

They might learn some moves at an earlier level, (for instance Lillipup learns Work Up at level 19, and Herdier learns it at level 20). They might level up slightly quicker too, I'm not sure though.

Just got my copy today but watched the Liverpool game instead of playing it. What is the Best Starter to use in the long run based on what I read nobody chose the Water type.

Pretty sure there's some normals with a catch rate of 5. Ran into one i think a metang, after 30 ultra's had to go to a confirmation so just turned the game off

@GTR: I'm working with a snivy and I have to say it's pretty easy to train! Not to mention it's final evo is pretty nice looking.
I just got White a couple of hours ago and have a snivy and a purrloin at level 10. Also caught a patrat and a lillipup but I'm not arsed training them as I'll take them off my team as soon as I get something better. Because I hate normal types. Almost as much as I hate fighting types. Almost.

I normally don't like the pokemon available on the early routes but I'm really liking the earlier ones this time.

Yep, the entire Beldum evolution line is only catch rate 3 :P

And yet i got Victini (catch rate 3) on like my 6th great ball (of 12), was expecting multiple resets! realised he was a nature I didn't really like though but wasn't willing to take my chances again..Raging!

Played for about two hours I choose Snivy(even though he does look like a smug bollax).Caught a Patrat & Lillipup did them up to Level 11 don't know why can't see myself using them in the long run.Have only just entered Striaton City now.Really do miss not seeing the likes of Pidgey,Caterpie & Abra.Thats probably cause i'm playing Heart Gold & Leaf Green recently.

I find theyve certainly spread pokemon out among the routes, so you dont repeatedly run into the likes of rattata/bidoof/patrat on every route, theres more variety from the early routes on... certainly don't miss the likes of rattata but theres a lot i do miss...... no abra, gastly or magikarp ffs so no alakazam, gengar or gyarados then obviously, least not for most the game! (damn it)

they suck....unlike my level 48 metapod!

White forrest is a nice spot, picked up some easy mon, need to connect to other games to get the grand total of 33 possible though

Actually. I saw those 'figurines' in HMV when I was in Dundrum today; those are Zukan figures! Even the Bidoof one goes for $8-$15 on eBay. I picked up one and got the Ampharos line! I'm super chuffed!
