As Sligo approaches the end of January 2011 I can tell you that the Average temperature here for the month will be around the 4c mark due to a mild last few days. Rainfall will end below normal again and with the exception of July and September 2010 this continues a very dry trend. Estimated final rainfall for the month will be at 75mm. Since November 1st there has been 245mm of rain, the same amount of rain fell in November 2009 alone, which to be honest was our last really wet month. Sunshine in Sligo has been above normal at around 130% and this has decreased a tad in the past couple of days. Wind has not been a problem but a lack of wind has resulted in quite a few frosty nights but there has not been very severe frost like December and in fact the lowest the temperature went this month was -4.4c whereas in December it dipped down to -9.4c. Snowfall on January 7th/8th of 2cm was reported but apart from this there was none. The highest temperature recorded so far this year in Sligo was 11.4c(yeah I know my thermometer seems to like temperatures with 0.4s at the end)
