What odds does it make aslong as your not flooded. I would take another month of this as trade off for a low rainfall late spring/summer/autumn. If you think your getting it bad spare a taught for lads in South Kerry. valentia has recorded rainfall from the start of December of nearly 700mm or 28inches. We are lucky they dont get the internet down there as if they saw the "have you your cows out thread" :D

Im à Few miles off The Atlantic in Mayo. Do you Think Its Spain im sending messages from.

Two trees gone here this morning. One big scots pine snapped about about 10ft up and narrowly missed maize pit and pallets of urea.

Same in Limerick unbelieavable stuff. Watched a row of Leylandiis coming down on the roadway and people continuing to drive past them as they fell!! Bloody Darwin award time!

Rough here in Shannon alright. Parked cars are bobbing up and down in the wind. Trees down all over the place. Never seen anything like it.

Row of Leylandiis along the bounds of the airport and Ind estate have fallen on a number of cars...power on and off here in the office....lamp posts falling...crazy stuff altogether.
Just want to get out of here now and go and check things at home....have old sheds on an out farm that could be in the next parish at this stage....I don't even want to think of what state the home place is in....have just put up new slatted shed and I think I would cry if it was damaged!

Heard that a truck has gone over somewhere between Shannon and Newmarket on Mway....

Awful here in wexford. Can see 20 big trees down and that's just the couple of front fields. Took a whole ditch of 40year old evergreen out of like they were matches. scary to watch. had to go meet school bus wit chainsaw to get them home. Hopefully it Will ease soon and no one gets hurt.

Girl I know up in clare had a tree fall on the house. Branches went straight in through the roof.
Looked like a massive beach tree did it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,391 ✭✭✭✭Timmaay

Tree fell on the main esb line here, power out since 2pm and no sign of it coming back. Mad scramble to get the genny going, 3yrs since it was turned on. Couldn't bloody find part of the pto for it ha. Between one thing and another, only just finished milking now.

Two roofs gone here, one still precarious but too dangerous to make safe tonight. I have shed man coming to quote for replacement in the morning and then let FBD take it from there.

I was in Kk this afternoon and it was the first time I remember being nervous in wind it was savage.
