No! It really is a nice day here, mostly blue skies, OK it's cold and windy but it's dry :D Got the sheep vaccinated and bolused and going back not to start taking levels at the polytunnel site.

Though the ould fella did say some of our fencing gear had been stolen

By the sea :o We hadn't it left far enough up the land :o

We got our power back today,3 Esb trucks down from Dublin did the job.
You mightn't use it often but a generator on a dairy farm is one super necessary tool.
We'd have been lost without ours,72hrs without mains power.

The genny with milking machine on,bulk tank cooling and ice cooler pumping and scrapers going was delivering a steady 226 volts. Its in with about 14 years and this would be the 2nd time it's had to deal with a 3 day outage.
Usually it's a few hours or less.

Coldish showery day today in East Wicklow.

Dunno, I passed three veg tunnels on the way to and from Galway on Wednesday and they were still standing, fairly sheltered mind. Suppose it depends on the shelter and how well the plastic was put on. Was just emailing the guy I am going to buy from, he's in Tipp, said his big tunnel came through fine. Cran on here has one off him too, how ever his got on?

Yeah I left the farm around 6.10 and was still light out. A clear day makes the world of difference.

Lovely dry crisp morning here. A tip on the gennies, they should be run periodically twice a year as they can seize
