    I'm not giving 100% confidence on a thaw by Christmas day judging by the cold air mass. There might be a slight warming but I think the cold northerlies will be stubborn to shift

    Stuck the head outside in Galway city and there's very light snow, bit of a covering on the cars. Have to head home shortly, should be an interesting drive to say the least. Has anyone been out around galway roads? are they well gritted etc.?

    Just had a very heavy snow shower, which dumped 3cms in under 10 mins, here outside Enniskillen, see attached photo taken from front door!!

    Total now of 4.5cms on the ground, current temp -0.9 C.

    If this whole event plays out just about right and transport is disrupted just enough I could have the easiest run up to Christmas since i started my stupid retail job...

    Maybe an odd light shower, nothing major, from tommrow night onwards you will see plenty
