I am thinking of just buying Vet packs for a while.

Sick of getting screwed over with PSPs.

As I say I have it up to V now. Close range (really close range) is an issue alright.

It is great against armour imo. I take it upon myself to take down Brutes, Pyros and any Atlas (onmce sheilds gone). One you get the gun gong I find it can shred armour well.

I also love the fact it kind of has a stunning effect (maybe all ARs do?). It is also excellent for killing Phantoms if you can safely get a clip off on them you will likely stun them a little as well.

The splash damage is useful for anyone hiding in cover as well.

I suppose the thing is that my primary damage dealer is the Biotic Slash move, that kills Brutes in about 3 hits (on silver) if I'm shooting them a bit aswell and it can shoot through walls.

The problem is that it takes a long time to cast so I can't just duck in and out of cover and it has a limited range - I need something for close up when I don't have time to use the Biotic slash and I need something that can also hit targets across the map (ravagers and primes in particular).

I suppose it wouldn't be as much of a problem if I actually played properly - having a team with specific tasks - snipers for bosses, me at close range, a support character.

Half the people I seem to play with are russian. :o

Sent an email to EA support about the commendation pack. Will wait for them to get back to me but apparently it's a fairly widespread problem according to the Bioware forums.

Thanks. Found it there 10 minutes ago and got the pack.

The contents weren't worth the hassle really.

There was news tonight about single-player DLC. It confirms what was rumoured a few weeks ago.

I'm interested to learn who we will play as.

Think I remember seeing somewhere that there was an underwater level planned at some point. That sure looks like it.

I presume for new weapons in the single player they'll use some of the MP ones. It would be silly to create yet more weapons when there's plenty of perfectly good ones to import into SP.

As much as anything, I haven't bought the other DLC because of a lack of access. I don't have a credit card and I thought the LE was insanely overpriced.

It could well be the same for this.

It's the same for all DLC in games really. Coming up with a mechanism to buy them using phone credit or something would be nice.

Could you not buy a voucher in store like Gamestop or HMV? I'm sure one of them sell Xbox Live Points or PSN cards.

    Michael Gamble

Hardest. Day. Ever. Seriously, if you people knew all the stuff we are planning...you'd, we'll - hold onto your copy of me3 forever.

He said that on March 9th.

Assuming he was talking about Levi...its some big expectations!

    i certainly hope so :)

Can't imagine it'll change anything about the ending, might add a sentence from the starchild but nothing else. Looks good though.

There was a definite lack of Reaper interaction in the game - Sovereign just sounded epic - the bit of dialogue with him on Virmire in ME1 was utterly magnificent.

In ME3 there was the destroyer in Quarian-land. That was great but it's really all there was.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,775 ✭✭✭✭Gbear

Got the Harrier there - combined with the Destroyer in "Destroyer Mode" its unbelievable. Ludicrous rate of fire. Eats through ammo mind you..

Finally felt I had a combo worthy of Gold and got a fairly comfortable win the on first try (had to rambo it a few times when the rest of my squad died but I've got like 3k health so I basically cant die).

I was breezing through silver matches with my N7 Sentinel so I thought I'd give gold a go. Ouch. Battered, down and out after 4 waves. If I can get a better weapon I might have a shot but it's tedious playing numerous silver matches to get a Premium Spectre Pack only to receive a crappy upgrade to a shotgun that I don't use.

Try doing firebase white, against geth on gold. Go down the stairs and inside the building, stay behind cover. on the hacks/escorts etc.. just follow the others and keep yourself alive, dont worry about score, just do what you can. 20 minutes of that and you have yourself 75k credits.

dont worry about weapons so much, if you get stuck, just make a salarian engineer and spam the hell out of decoy and energy drain. you dont even need to fire your weapons with a salarian engineer on gold :)

This weeks operation is one of the easiest that they've done.

Dunno, its a lot of extractions for the Community goal: around 400k spread between Bronze, Silver and Gold. And no way to know how many of a type are still needed (Bioware really needs to add a realtime tracker for these events soemwhere).

The personal goal is pish easy, one Bronze extract on London :pac:

It's the silvers that i would be worried about.

Gold get's farmed and bonzes of 200k is not much but silver will be close.

wheres the best place to get a digital copy of this? is origin the only place? dont particularly want to pay 50 for it

  • Registered Users Posts: 26,317 ✭✭✭✭noodler

Looks like no hope of the operation being a success:
    UPDATE
Apologies for the delay, but we wanted to run teh numbers twice to ensure accuracy.

We have checked and then rechecked the totals for all 3 platforms. Currently:
    Bronze - 66,611= 33%
    Silver - 48,281 = 27%
    Gold - 17,466 = 30%

I suppose multiplayer is slowing down. It's been around 4 months since it came out plus there isn't a whole lot of variety to it. Pick one of three enemy groups, pick a base and complete 3 objectives.

I think the free DLC has kept things quite fresh but with the same fairly narrow gameplay there's always going to be a drop off.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,737 ✭✭✭✭degrassinoel

Icyseanfitz, you missed the 50% off on origin a few weeks ago, not sure if you'll find it much cheaper than 50 quid digitally. If you've played ME and ME2 and enjoyed those, it's worth the 50 quid.

Noodler & J. Marston yep, i have no idea why they had those extractions numbers so high, surely they can see average stats of how many people play MP. Seems far to high to have ever had any chance of success, even across all of the three platforms.

I did a few last night for the craic, and some people even on bronze are just too stupid to understand what the goal is, more than once one imbecile, a vanguard in my case would biotic charge out a second before the extraction completes and it just ruins the entire game.

that said, i also did the london map on gold against geth, and it's pure awesome! I think i lucked out with 3 decent pugs we didnt get any deaths/incaps til very late, i was using a demolisher engineer with the rank V grenade mod, so i had 10 homing grenades, and the ammo pylon giving me a refill of 2 more every 12 seconds. great fun, oh and a rank 3 scorpion pistol, 'splosions everywhere! Epic!

I can't really put my finger on why Geth are so much easier than the other two.

It's really easy for hunters to sneak up on you if you're focusing on a Prime and you can always run around a corner into some Pyros and Rocket troopers are really annoying. I think the Phantom and Banshee are just so much harder that they make the difference.

It's so much easier to just run away from Primes. Maybe they should make their turrets stronger?
