Ah it's great to see this thread, I was getting sick of wading through the other thread hoping for a mention of the west :) I've been driving my boyfriend mad all week with my snow talk. I want some bad.

-8.9c in Tuam. Getting into serious cold territory now. Has already gone lower the low of -8.3c recorded in December 2009.

The girlfriend and i agree with what was said about the media being Dublincentric, its so annoying. No sign of the expected snow yet on met.ie.Will be after Midnight i think.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,516 ✭✭✭irish1967

I think tonight it will be a case of distance from west coast and not really height.

Hi ya if you could add your general location in your profile it makes it easier to track the fluffy stuff comming our way, and avoids excited posts like "snow here!!!" when we dont know where here is :)thanks

I got -9.4c last Jan Nacho, so if this temp goes lower tonight it will be a colder temp than anything recorded last winter as a whole. -9.0c now

I know it means rain for me, but was getting bored of watching the eastern streamers. Now a bit of real weather because "the west's awake" again. ;)

P.S. just measured -5.3 here, the lowest I have ever seen in this spot.

I think its just a shower nacho.

Indeed, some threads on the weather forum should be relegated to after hours, I'm missing the lack of scientific discussion from the usual posters.

Those tiny flakes I mentioned. Well they have stopped falling, and the ones on the ground, they're gone. Still a few resting on the car wiper blades though.
