Getting a good bit of snow here in D1 for the last 45mins or so. Compared to yesterday it's like a ghost town out there.

I just want to post this picture taken 5 minutes ago so people can feel my pain. To the snow haters out there, they will think we are the luckiest sods ever here near Bray seafront. However, I am a snow lover so I am in the depths of depression reading the 12-16-18 inches and current blizzard reports from across the east coast.

    Without further ado.

First road back from Seafront Bray Thursday Dec 2nd 11:55am

My sincere condolances. As a fellow Wicklow native it's an all too familar sight. Temps in the low single figures, sleet/graupel/rain. Really know how you feel. Hasn't really been any recent activity (or at least any that makes any difference) where I am but outside Wicklow Town there is still a good 3 inches covered.

I would imagine there is some pretty close to where you are if you went off the beaten/sheltered track though, no?

Jesus it's chucking it down out there now. Anyone know how Firhouse is at the moment? Was bad enough leaving for work this morning, but with this on top it must be mental.

Snowing all morrning here, 2ft 6 inches now on the ground in the centre of the road, up to 4 ft against walls and cars depending on which way wind is blowing.

Can't remember snow like this in my 32 years on planet earth. Haven't been to work all week, can't get my van out of the garden, cant even open the doors on it now. Called my mate in the council 5ft of snow at sally gap.

and i would say that there are drifts of over 15 feet...always are. the highest snowfall in ireland is in the sally gap. I even asked Gerry Murphy when I was in Carrickmacross last week . 1st Cousin of my mate. Gerry is a bit dry but nice. He stated that the dublin/wicklow mountains gets highest snowfall in Ireland on average and can border on the extreme like last winter with snow lying till April.:):):):)

Sun starting to peek out now here in Old Kilcullen, -0.5 and rising, but it was dumping down about 20 minutes ago. Somewhere under the heaps of snow on the railing pillars are my back garden lights...

Drogheda, southside: Bit of lazy snow falling at the moment, had a small bit earlier too. Had some snow overnight, but not as much as the night before.

Lots of snow fell last night, and fairly heavy snow for most of the morning near Wexford town.
