Those two bumpkins who were sitting behind me in the cinema last night, sounded like they'd just come down from the mountains, slight waft of cabbage from them, guffawing at every little thing no matter if it was funny or not, its people like them that have ruined cinema viewing, downloads and blu-rays ftw.

how about people who feel the need to push their belief or lack thereof on you for no reason other than to give them a smug feeling, which is very pervasive on boards!

oh, and people who can't smell how much they stink!

People who blame the state of the country on the people that took out mortgages and how they had the foresight to see what was coming when really they're 30 year old sad single twats who live with mammy and daddy and had no reason to get a house. If your not a 30 year old sad single twat well then you can argue that point.

More than anything else, people who cannot admit when they’re wrong.

I’ve seen people who have been categorically shown to be wrong on an objective issue continue to argue that it’s nighttime outside when the sun is beating through the window.

People like this will usually wear their stubbornness as a badge of honour: “I’m an opinionated person with strong beliefs, and I won’t change just because someone else disagrees with me. I march to the beat of my own drum."

They seem to think it’s some sort of positive personality trait. It’s not; it is weakness of the worst kind and can be positively dangerous.

Fully agree, it's one of my pet hates. There's a quote I love that expresses this type of behaviour perfectly:
"If a man is offered a fact which goes against his instincts, he will scrutinize it closely, and unless the evidence is overwhelming, he will refuse to believe it. If, on the other hand, he is offered something which affords a reason for acting in accordance to his instincts, he will accept it even on the slightest evidence."
    Bertrand Russell

I can't say I hate anybody really, the most I would say is that I have a strong visceral reaction to some people :D
There are some human behavior and personality traits that I find repugnant though and certain beliefs that I detest such as:

    Bullies
People who will still vote for FF in the next election even after everything that's happened
Homophobes, or to be more precise anyone that hates on the LGBT community
Fundamentalist Christians who try to impose their beliefs on others or legislate their beliefs into power to take away or deny the rights of others
People with no humanity or compassion for the poor and marginalised in society
Those who neglect or abuse animals.
    The far Right in politics
    Racists
    Liars
People who brag about how much money they earn/car they have/how much their property is worth, although of course that's a bit redundant now :p I detest one-upmanship
Big bankers, developers, politicians and others who have destroyed our country to enrich themselves
    People who are two-faced
Ditto-heads who don't think for themselves or who don't use rational and critical thinking skills
Women who think it's cute to be airheads, especially around men :rage::
or who think that it's more important to look pretty than use their brains.

People who look down on others because they don't have materially what society thinks is important i.e money, status, flash car, designer duds etc.,
though I find people who do so are more to be pitied than hated because they're the weak and gullible ones who've bought into a lie.

    Climate change deniers
    Self-centered and selfish individuals
Orange faced women who pile on the fake tan and make-up, and seem to be completely unaware that they look chavie, tacky and ridiculous

I hate them people in the cinema.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,221 ✭✭✭Greentopia

Oh I thought of another pet peeve:
Women (and it is always women) who rattle their big bunch of keys as they go around the Supermarket.
WHY?? "Look at me I have a car!" ? So what? so have millions of others.
Or are the keys supposed to signify something else like how busy/important they are?? I'm genuinely mystified and I can't understand it as I never see men do it. I'm female myself BTW.

I guarantee you ever atheist/non believer would like nothing better to never talk about god again, but until religion gets its claws out of schools, state affairs and every day life, that wont happen.

Oh and I hate people who think atheism is "just like a religion itself" no it isnt you dozy cunts.

I have an intense dislike for hipsters with skinny jeans and those beanie hats they wear. Also people who wear pyjamas out on the street. I saw a gaggle of women wearing pj's in the shop recently. Lazy bastards.

I can think of one person who I know who I actually hate, and even so I think it's too strong a word to use. Generally (maybe not on the internet) I just get along with people, all it takes to make me love or hate you is putting in the time, if I dislike someone's company I tend to just walk away. I can think of three things that will speed up the process towards hate: being militant and inflexible (about anything); liking confrontation or argument for its own sake; and being a loud eater.
