Nope, everytime I run I feel sick again, I'm well into my overdraft because of the marathon. I'm gonna slowly build it up over the next few weeks and hopefully start 2012 with a bang. :D

I presume/hope you'll be fit enough for Meno's Xmas drinks? Will you make it K? or does your injury need rest?

Are these the drinks the day of the Waterford half?
I'm a bit out of touch.

They are indeed and your presence is not only required but expected!

What are ye like. As if anyone would ever believe that I would be in any way abusive.

    ^ Yes Dear!

2.3 miles in 22 mins, slow and enjoyable despite the ****e weather.

I could have done 5 or 6 comfortably but I'm going to ease back in to full training.

    1.28 miles in 15:09 average pace 11:54

A new distance pb for Princess, non stop running and finishing up with a burst of speed to 8 min miles.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

4.5 miles in 39:16 average pace 8:42 min miles average HR 150bpm

I'm nervous about saying it but felt much more like myself on this run, a little quicker than I should but I was running with a mate who wanted to go faster.

Will determine my max HR etc next week.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 20,364 Mod ✭✭✭✭RacoonQueen

AVerage HR of 150 would suggest it was easy enough for you. Unless your max is 160, in which case you're fudged. :)

Good to see you back. 14 miles on Sunday in the park - are you in? :D

Short and easy is the instruction for the week! :)

    Poor form.

I'm old and broken down, it'll be mid Summer before I'm getting results again! :(

5.28 miles in 42:48, average pace 8:07 with 153 average heart rate.

Again too fast but comfortable, I'll have to go running solo to reduce the pace but I appear to be getting over this affliction.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,554 ✭✭✭Mr Slow

4:05 miles in 34:11, average pace 8:27, average heartrate 149 bpm

I think my heart rate may have been affected by my choice of music, it should have been lower I reckon at that pace.

I finished the last 400m with a blast of speed reaching max heart rate of 182 but I'd say there's a few more to come as I was far from red lining at that pace/distance.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,554 ✭✭✭Mr Slow

5.92 miles in 47:36 average pace 8:02 average heart rate 157 bpm

This run went from 0 - 60 in the cold thanks to my mate so I wasn't surprised to find my hamstring feeling unhappy as we went along, I really have to start setting the pace for these runs.

7:16 Miles in 1:01 average pace 8:36 average heart rate 156

Met up with RQ in the park this morning for a fresh one, it was to be 10 miles but I found this run heavy going with niggles a plenty. It was a reality check for me, my endurance is shot, 7 weeks of resting and running short distances has killed it. I'm a touch devastated but am going to keep the head down for the next while and build back up.

My A goal for the first half of the year is Mallow, plenty of time to get it back.

Btw: When you agree a pace for a run with RQ, you may expect to be running much faster!

Why do I always get the blame? Didn't see you reigning in the pace. :P

I couldn't if I wanted to, it'd be like The Taming of the Shrew! :D

Don't worry you'll be back to your super speedy self in no time.

What's your excuse for missing the Xmas drinks especially when you were so bossy about others attending?!?

Did you have to Google it?

It came down to a choice, a night with you guys or ice skating in Dundrum with a very excited princess on Sunday morning! :)

My doctor had advised against running, I didn't listen and I'm now paying for it. As much as it kills me, I have to stop training at least until the New Year, devastated does not begin to cover it.

Shouldn't have stopped taking that glutamine.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,704 ✭✭✭✭RayCun

    Damn, sorry to hear it.
What's the plan - cycle and swim, or get fat? I know which I'd prefer :pac:

Sorry to hear it aswell as you were in great form but my advice now would be to just accept the fact and make sure you enjoy the break and don't be dwelling :D and you'll come back totally refreshed and ready to conquer 2012.

No bike and I swim like a stone.

It's not running it's effort, I just have to rest the body. I had a bad dose of Post Viral Fatigue about 10 years ago and spent 3 weeks off work sitting watching DVD's, this is not as bad but it's not going away either.

    Sorry to hear that C.

Are you going to Meno for a second opinion? :)

You're working on the premise that you have to request an opinion from Meno. :pac:
