Haven't noticed a single difference with the patch.
relax a bit its the internet not a boxing ring :). why dont you just send the link then we can see if its a connection issue or an issue with the ps3. in fairness the third party comparison tests between the 2 (and i mean all of them not just the more recent black ops ones) have shown there can be noticable differences in quality between ps3 and xbox . so it makes sense it can run fine on the box but ****e on the ps3 or visa versa

and yes shammy you where being a teeny bit harsh lets not forget you get what you pay for with the box . and you dont have to pay for jack all with the ps3;)

Ok maybe i was a little harsh in the previous post.

It s the frame rate that is terrible on the ps3 which causes it to stutter. I also know many people with the same problem.Have you not seen the amount of people complaining of the same problem ?

Its not a connection issue as its perfect on the xbox , even when i host on the ps3 its still the same , there is a slight difference when i come down from a 1080p hdmi to a compontent 1080i.

I have the very same issues!! and its worse if my flatmate is playin on-line with me.

in fairness shammy, you are coming across as a bit fanboish. Its a well known fact that activision suck microsofts dick HARD ! Its hardly sonys fault that treyarch have prioritised the 360 over the ps3, the only reason that there are more games that run slightly better (We're talking 2-3fps... hardly gamebreaking) on the 360 is because they are developed for it firstly and then ported to the PS3, the graphics being better on the 360.... meh, the difference is so minute that its not even worth comparing.

It is a connection issue, not on your side but with the black op's servers. Again this has nothing to do with the PS3 itself and is completely on the developers back.

Also, i havent had any frame rate issues for 4 or 5 days. The only problems im getting (Not sure if hte patch has fixed any of it) is random transmission disconnects and the horrible party system. The game runs pretty damn smooth when i actually get into a full game..... i was kicked from a game of domination yesterday at about half way, i had 65ish kills to 5 deaths and was on a 6 killstreak... trust me... i was ****ing pissed !!!
hey id spread some head microsofts way if they where paying out cash to me the way they do for the big titles . of course they get priority its why they get the jump on the DLC as well the difference is that xbox users have to pay a little bit more to get that little bit more .

also i thought sham was being a bit harsh himself on the ps3 but considering he's bought both played on both and still gets games for both id hardly call him a fanboy of either console

When you play it on 2 consoles there is a notable difference so yes i am going to favour the one that it plays perfectly on, never had any problems on mw2. It is to do with treyarch as some videos have suggested that it runs smoothly when your friends list is empty.
In fairness if sony dont really give a s}{it what way games are developed on their console , it says a lot.

Thats no excuse tho, we are paying the same price for the same game, its actually pathetic of activision and typical of their money grabbing ways. Microsoft pay extra for DLC's to come early, i can live with that, they dont pay extra for a more smooth release and better community service tho.

I didnt call him a fanboy, i just said that his opinion was coming across as fanboish.

Im not saying you shouldnt favour one, but you're putting the blame on sony when its nothing to do with the PS3. I think everyone knows that the xbox version is smoother atm.

I dont see how its sonys fault, im pretty sure microsoft dont go down to the treyarch studios and make sure they're developing the game too an acceptable standard on the xbox, its not the consoles job to make these games. It is entirely down to treyarchs poor coding for the ps3 version and lack of beta testing.. which is basically what these first few weeks are for the ps3... as im pretty sure all the closed beta testing was done on the xbox.

microsoft are known to piss money at the big titles though . all the way back from the begining . its not like its as obvious as a cheque cashed as "money for smooth release" but they really like to splash the cash to get their own way . and i agree with you its pathetic to be bending over backwards for microsoft like that but its the way the world works

your right i copped that and was going to throw the word implied in there somewhere but i wasnt arsed :D but your right from an outsiders point of veiw id think he was some jumped up xbox loving assface as well

Aye, it sucks aww well, i dont really mind waiting a few weeks for the ps3 version to get up to standard.

Microsoft have all these rings , publishers have to jump through before their game gets released , same with the patches/updates , which is why games in general run more smoothly.
Sony doesnt, yes it is treyarchs poor coding on the ps3 , but sony still passed it ...why ? $$$$

The main reason i bought a ps3 was for GT , i'm still waiting , but at least they are putting it off until its properly ready........you see what i mean.

Have to agree with shammy and im a ps3 owner. The game is a half arsed effort on ps3, it really shows the lack of testing done when having a big friends list lags the game so much. I still cant join parties with most of my friends which is ruining the game for me more than anything else. Its not my connection/ Nat type because it was fine on MW2/ Cod4/ W@W etc

Chillax folks. In the main I agree with a lot of what Magill says.

I've said it numerous times. You get what you pay for. 360 players pay their subs in their drobes and get better service over all than us on the PS3. Fair enough. Microsoft as a result secures the rights to games and DLC to encourage people be it now or in future to buy their console and it no doubt works.

What was it that MS paid for GTA IV DLC... $50M or something ridiculous!? Think we(PS3 owners) got the DLC content 6-8 months later too! Due to that I refused to buy the DLC.

I can understand Activision doing what they do. Still very annoying nonetheless. It really wouldn't surprise me if MS went all out to secure the rights to DLC on BO for an exclusive period as well. If that happened that would be an extremely bitter pill to take.

I'm not entirely sure what is wrong with Shammy on the PS3. On PS3 MW2 he was hosting regularly enough and lag free with 3 or 4 bar connection but now he can't play **** on MW2. For me it's the exact opposite. I can count the number of truly unplayable lag games on one hand whereas in MW2. It was 50/50 with constant drops(in connection) during most games. For myself the frame-rate is the only issue, but even still it's rare enough for that occur in my experience.

I certainly the problem lies with Treyarch in relation to Black Ops's issues on the PS3 be it coding or whatever, whether it is dare I say intentional.. well tbf it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

Sony also have to take some blame too IMO for not trying to secure some deals regarding mainstream games.

Dying to play it. I still play GT4 to this day! That's how much I love the series.

 Do you mean he can't play **** on BOps?

I can't really comment on this as I don't have both systems. I do think that paying extra to Microsoft is part of it though, as they have to ensure top quality where possible. People will move away pretty quickly if you're paying an annual sub for crap.

Sierra, that post above about you not knowing Shammy if he didn't have a 360, made me laugh out loud at work. Thanks a bunch!

Do you get paid for that material?

It's not Sony's fault if people are having a shít time online. Treyarch never Beta tested the online. But if my connection can hold so can everybody else's but by the sounds of you, you haven't a clue what your doing at all. Blaming Sony for the online... Stupid. You seriously haven't a bloody clue... Did you try turn off your firewall on your router? OR just even open the PS3 ports on your router. It could be anything, but it's a mixture of your connection and Treyarch's poor coding. But your go play it on your Xbox, fanboy.

If you don't like it on the PS3 don't play it. Simple as. I have no problems on-line, whatsoever. Why is that? If it was all the PS3 fault would I be able to play? Clearly not.

Although your right in that its not sonys fault, i wouldn't say its peoples connections that is the problem. Treyach have already acknowledged that there is a problem and they are trying to fix it. Just need to give them some time. I too get alot of random disconnects etc and some people cant connect to me and vise versa.

just found this posted on http://www.breakingglobalnews.com and it is exactly the way for me i cant get into any games at all since the patch it just keeps saying need more players to balance teams even tho the list is full
Today Activision released the Black Ops patch 1.03 for the PS3 to counter all the problems associated with Call of Duty: Black Ops. Unfortunately the PS3 version of Black Ops is very substandard in comparison to that running on an Xbox 360. There have been numerous lag problems, disconnects, transmission errors, matchmaking issues, party problems and other things that the Black Ops patch 1.03 intended to fix.
    Black Ops Patch 1.03

However for most PS3 gamers there are serious problems with the latest build released in Black Ops patch 1.03. Gamers are reporting that whilst the game ran reasonably pre-patch the new build has all but ruined their gaming experience. On forums many are complaining that the situation is worse than before with many unable to find a game to compete in, and when they do the latency or lag is always set to 1 red dot.
Hopefully there will be a new patch to replace this Black Ops patch 1.03 for the PS3 as this current iteration has failed to aid any PS3 gamer from enjoying the game at all. Even if the PS3 version suffers from a mediocre framerate in comparison to the Xbox gamers used to be able to play online without too many problems. With the Black Ops patch 1.03, both Treyarch and Activision will surely have to release a new one almost immediately.

Yeah but people playing on a wireless connection doesn't help the issue especially if there are problems already. I have not had a single issue with Black Ops on-line yet. Bar the odd dodgy host migration.

    Whos your isp?
Its been the same on ps3 with most cods, it takes a few weeks at the start for all the crap to get ironed out (took months on mw2 with the care package glitch) The game has only been out 10 days so thats not really enough time to sort out all the issues, id say there will be another patch soon. MW2 had 3 patches in its first week on ps3 lol so that shows how broken it was aswell

From my posts and others about my connection on this thread , what have you learnt ?

I have both b-ops and mw2 on both consoles, never had any connection issues with mw2 on either console , i have a good connection , i can still play mw2 on the ps with no connection issues.
So , no problems with black-ops on the xbox , but frame rate problems on the ps3.

Your calling me a fanboy even though i have it on both consoles , if it was reversed i would be ranting about microsoft.

I never said that i didnt like it on the ps3 , havent you been reading ? i said it was a shambles.

Obviously your a sensitive little boy , thanks for the pm .

Hope your going to the cod beers meet up .
