Galway Bay Brewery Facebook page says they've finally started work on the bar in Limerick. Anyone passing O'Donnells and can confirm this??

Pity I don't actually live there anymore, but hey even more excuses to return!!

This definitely needs to be confirmed by someone! They've been saying for ages that "work is due to begin soon", "work is underway", etc, etc

They tweeted a picture of the interior of the pub as it currently looks. They seem to be indicating that the work to renovate it is about to get underway.

It's less than 200 metres from Uber. Flanagans from Ballina are opening a restaurant and bar in the former Blind Pig as well so that should also draw some business up that way. Wickham Street will be repaved and upgraded over the course of the next year so that should improve the appearance of the area greatly too.

Wickham Street from junction with Parnell Street to junction with Thomas Street (both sides) and Thomas Street down as far as Thompsons should be razed. Massive space going to waste.

Green yard cafe opening up in the former Patrick Punch's bar.

In that it's all low level buildings?

No, I'm not suggesting that it needs high rise. I just think it's beyond help at this stage. From Thompsons up to Wickham Street, the only businesses you have is Tony Kiely Lawnmowers, McArthurs Casino and the carpark. On that side of Wickham Street, the only thing worth mentioning is Daly's jewellers.

Passed the HMV unit in the Crescent today and there were posters up (with Easons branding) advertising new jobs. Also lots of work going on inside by the sounds of it.

Due to open mid November according to the leader

My wife and some of her work colleagues were in House. Pretty pricy, 5.10 for a pint of Guinness, 16 for a large glass of wine, 27 for the cheapest bottle of wine.

Yes I know they are trying to pitch themselves at a certain audience but the people that were there would all earn well above the average wage and they didn't find it cheap.

Not sure I can see it being sustainable once the honeymoon period is over, it will really need to be special.

That's hillarious. Why does a bar need a host? House, your not on Leeson street now!

Was in the milk market yesterday and see funky donoughts has opened up there. There shop front looks very cool.
