Was her car standing on the front bumper or the back bumper?
I'd say it's far more likely the car was resting on its wheels as you'd expect, at a right angle to his own.

OP next time you see a woman looking at your muscles you should tell her you even made a thread on boards about them, you'll get the ride there and then.

I can only imagine the carnage every time you approach a space at 120km/h and flip your car so you can perpendicular park.

Your insurance premium must be through the roof.

I was over in Wisconsin a few months back and they have this stuff in a little 'can' like a mouth spray 'Moose musk' or something it was called.

Spray it on the bell , brought her up into a lovely deep purple glossy sheen.

    They loved it.

If he had simply said "her car was perpendicular" you could infer that it was standing upright in the peculiar fashion you described.

He said that her car was "perpendicular to (his) own," which means that should you project a line through his car from back to front, and do the same with hers, the lines would intersect at a right angle, ie. they would be perpendicular to each other. What he was saying made perfect sense.

**** you internet, I feel dirty getting in these kinds of arguments.

No, don't feel dirty just look on it as a learning experience.

'Perpendicular' from the verb 'pendere' to weigh or hang refers to the vertical.

hence 'pendulum' as in clock hangs down.

Now when he refers to his own car which I assume is horizontal( in plane with the horizon)the clue is in the meaning, thus a car perpendicular to his would at 90 degrees on a vertical plane, thus either standing on it's front or rear fender.

    Which was it?

    I'd say the rear.

I'm going to have to look into this one later when I get the chance. I'm actually thinking about it two ways now: one in which I'm right, one in which I'm not.

Cheers if it's the latter, no better way of learning than being wrong.
