The rain is now extreme in Cork
    Sky tv just gone.
Way worse than Met Eireann predictions.
I would think flooding is widespread!

Homestead lost its power back in North Tipperary an hour ago, the whole area is gone - that hasnt happened in a very very long time.

Grandparents house is also without power in East Clare.

Anybody else lost TV signal in the Galway County area?

It sure as hell isn't calm here, just a couple of miles down the road. |You must be very sheltered?

I'm a bit sheltered from the south, but not overly sheltered, there's an exposed larger piece of lawn outside which I was looking at.
Now, I can hear some howling from the fireplace chimney, but nothing unusual.

I've a 9 foot x 9 foot window at the front of the house - south facing on an exposed hill overlooking the waterford coastline.

It's actually billowing like a sail in the gusts now - bit scary - be some mess if it blew in!

    107kph gust at Cork Airport.

County waterford extremely bad now... way worse that the last winds...how long is this supposed to last lads because it's actually scarey:(

Gust speed picking up here with the arrival of the heavier rain.

Peak winds around 3am for Dublin i'd imagine.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,913 ✭✭✭Danno

    Got a 49mph gust during a 10 minute average of 35mph winds before 10pm!

Wind should quickly start to ease down after midnight in the south.

What a change - Cork Airport has gone from 35 gust 55 kts at 2200 to just 17 gust 28 at 2230.

At its worst so far here (North Tipp) TV signal just gone, will be surprised if light doesn't go. Looking at game in Thomond would say the Aussies never want to experience a wet and windy night in Limerick again.

Met Éireann's forecast for Waterford Airport has 35 gust 55kts from 2100, reducing to just 15 kts from 1am. A couple more hours

Judging on sound alone, I'd say we've had gusts close to 60mph here in Dundalk and it's getting a lot wetter now too. Gotten colder as well.
