I'm not sure who's going to manufacture it. I know Lian-Li built the prototype, and they were also in discussion with Fractal and Silverstone (I'm hoping they build it, personally).

im not. itll be completely over priced then :o

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,181 ✭✭✭Serephucus

I've seen Lian-Lis and Silverstones in person though, and IMO, Silverstone's cases feel quite a bit nicer. Sure, Lian-Li have the all aluminium thing going, with no plastic, but Silverstone cases feel thick, heavy, and rock solid, which is something I like.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,979 ✭✭✭Tea_Bag

sorry, i completely agree. i thought you wanted Lian Li to do it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,181 ✭✭✭Serephucus

Nope Silverstone, sorry. Now that I read it again it's not clear at all what I was on about.

The only possible negative of this case is that at present there aren't any good SFX PSUs out there. Silverstone has a 450W gold unit, but by all accounts the fan is really loud on it. Here's hoping someone makes a ~450W passive unit.

when there's a market, I'm sure sfx PSUs will pop up all over the place. no one wants a big case anymore. it's just such a waste of space. especially when you can cool a decent rig on a 240 and 120 rad alone.

I think Intel will push haswell itx quite hard.

Point. Especially with things like the Prodigy, mITX is taking off, so it's only natural that SFX should follow. Given that you can run pretty much any single GPU setup from a good 400W unit now, it doesn't seem like there's a need for such huge PSUs, especially when they're taking up so much of the space in smaller cases.

Just finished Bioshock Infinite yesterday. To anyone trying to decide if they should get it, just get it. The ending alone is worth the full price tag. First game in a long time that's made me sit back and actually think.

For those considering buying, its only 40 quid in Gamestop too ! Steam is 50 quid IIRC

Not bad ! Although I have a feeling it'll be fairly cheap quite soon since there isn't any MP aspect to it. Still an epic game !

Do you need to play the other two or are they stand alone games? Haven't heard a great deal about it but I've watched a walkthrough of the first 10 minutes and turned it off knowing that I should buy the game and play through it myself.

Its a completely separate story AFAIK. I do recommend picking up bioshock 1 though, great game

There's little references here and there, but no, Infinite is a separate story !

    Also lads, reckon a 360 + 140 Rad would be enough for a 2600K and 680's ?

Never played 1 or 2. Infinite has to bee my Favorite game for the past, at least 5 years. That's having played nearly every AAA title of the past 4 and a half years across xbox and ps3. (I don't drink or smoke so I've money to burn.)

Should be more than enough providing the blocks and pump are good. Where are you fitting a 360 and 140?

360 up top and 140 in the back, thinking XPSC bay res + pump combo and and maybe an Apogee Drive (the new one) to keep the setup looking somewhat clean.

Its purely concept at the moment though, spent farrrr too much on my PC over the last few months, need to take a break for a while. The thoughts of how expensive its gonna be with all the connectors I want + 2 GPU blocks is scary :o

how much did it cost you? when i was piecing my prodigy together, it was about the same price as my AX750.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,181 ✭✭✭Serephucus

All this SFF talk... we should do a performance per cm cubed (case size) scoreboard or something.

it cost me 101 i think (including postage) by going through that site, so still 14 or 15 less than scan, who have the best european price for it. it hasnt been dispatched yet though so will have to wait and see how it goes

Guy on OCN has my cards in SLi, in pretty much the same spacing I'll have between my cards when I get them. 1 degree difference between top and bottom card. I was expecting 8-10 degrees at least on the top card. That'll do :D

UPS tried to deliver mine today but the chap "didn't know how to get to my house" so he will try again tomorrow. I don't know how many times I've had things delivered to the house yet this is the first time that the driver got "lost". Mustn't be my normal driver because it has always been the same driver before.

Oh I thought yours was in the post or something? Yeah I was really hoping mine was going to get here on the Friday so that I could build it over the weekend. Now it will be here tomorrow but I'll have to wait until Friday to build because I have an assignment for college due this Friday that I need to work on. Ugh! :(
