How do you know that gaming Mouse is good? You don't even notice it.

Razor is bringing third generation of death adder and that says it all. A lot of razors mouse came and gone, but good old deathadder stood its ground. I got myself 3.5g version of deathadder few months ago and I have to say its brilliant and most amazing mouse I ever owned ( had more expensive mouse, which were shiet ).

yeah I was wondering the same, surely the sensor wouldn't be able to perform at max settings on the older drivers (not that anyone uses 6400dpi..)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,924 ✭✭✭✭ShadowHearth

is there even a point in over 3000dpi? barely anyone ( who knows what they are doing ) need more then that.

its more of a marketing stunt i guess. i got my 3.5g and ill stick to it untill dies on me.

The MS software is nice actually, makes it real simple to reassign buttons but is minimal and you never see it unless you open it.

2000DPI is plenty in my eyes. Most of the time I'm only on the middle setting anyways. Its the same way the speedo in your car goes to 200 when you can only do 160, it looks better when people are buying. Average joe goes on newegg, sees 2000 and 6000 and goes "oh, this is better".

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,575 ✭✭✭NTMK

would 6000dpi even have any benefit for gaming mine is set to 1800dpi for gaming and 4500 for browsing and sc2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,928 ✭✭✭VenomIreland

I have my Deathadder set to 450 DPI :P

So guys, I just came across this wonderful little item today, thought it might be useful for quite a few people here:

    http://www.maxkeyboard.com/max-keyboard-keycap-cherry-mx-switch-o-ring-sampler-kit.html

It's a MX switch sample kit, containing four random key caps, and one of each type of the Cherry MX switches (Blue, Brown, Black, Red) for you to try. It also comes with four rubber dampers that you can put on the bottom of each key cap for a slightly cushioned feel. It's not as good as a full keyboard obviously, but it will give you a very good idea.

If you go through the site, it will tell you shipping here is $35, but I emailed them and they said they can send it via standard post (vs. USPS Priority) for $6. If you want to get one, email them and ask, and give your shipping address, they should get back to you pretty quick. You can just Paypal them the money and they'll push it through manually.

Ordered one for myself there, just 'cause. :P

Speaking of gaming mouses, I did a survey recently of the top European and American TF2 players recently which included their mouse, mousepad, and cm/360.

    Check it out - https://docs.google.com/a/doublejump.eu/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AoXEN9ZAogzVdG9lODVQaHFSVEl6ZS1XN091a0lMR2c

Most common set up seems to be the Logitech G400, SteelSeries QcK+ and something like 30cm/360.

If you'd like an introduction to these players, have a watch of this -

I'm not sure what I should do. I bought 3 AF120 fans, turns out I only need 2. Should I send it back to amazon or keep it?

The guy with a 90cm/360 setup must have a huge mousepad.

Seems that a HD7970 GHz edition is the entry point for maxed out near 60 FPS gaming in Far Cry 3 @1080p.

Or at least it is if you can live without any AA :D

Thanks Serephucus for telling us about this & Genghiz coz I am too lazy to bother e-mailing them about it :P
Not sure why but I've just ordered one :) I won't even be buying a keyboard any time soon.

If someone is looking for a keyboard that site has a black Friday 30% off coupon on their site, so if you can get a UK layout keyboard there is could be great value.

Strange , no mention of the auld IntelliMouse guess it's gone the way of the dodo, the g400 is solid , deffo my next upgrade once my mx518 dies , though it's pretty bulletproof.

"In the test with GPU and CPU benchmarks, however, shows that the Dunia Engine-2 Far Cry 3 itself fleet pixel accelerator strongly urges."

Hopefully two xfired 'fleet pixel accelerators' will be adequate for a decent fps @ 5760x1080 :)

Lads, I'm looking to find a 7970 gHz edition to replace my 6950s (which will either be sold to a friend or on adverts), however on scan all the gHz editions seem to be pre-order only, is there any place that is selling them at the moment?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,387 ✭✭✭glynf

@ Venom; do you plan on over-clocking it much? TBH I think Ghz cards are a bit of a gimmick, supposedly a higher binned chip is used, AFAIK all 7970's can easily push well 1000+ on stock volts, which should be more than adequate for most 1080/1440p.

I have 2 reference ones running at 1050/1500 mem day in, day out without issue. I would most definitely go for an after market cooler though.

Decent card for the money, great cooler if itworks as well as the Vapor-X (looks similar) and its not an obese pig of a thing like the Asus DC II. Was going to suggest a MSI R7970 Lightning, but no way is it worth €60 more..
