Found a new channel last night called Merit, it only broadcasts between 9pm to midnight at the moment. It’s an ITV service that shows travel, food and gardening programmes. Watched an episode of The Hungry Sailors last night (Dick Strawbridge & his son James)
It showed up on the C-ITV channel after 9pm if anyone is interested.

Nothing showing on CITV at 11:45p.m., though it may be finished broadcasting for the night, will try earlier tomorrow.

SWMBO watched about 30 mins of it last night ~21:15 .... something about English garden furniture/seating or such.
It was gone before midnight as you discovered.

    FTA only ..... no Sky.

    FTA only ..... no Sky.

Thanks, that's why it doesn't work for me, it's flagged as a data stream and won't be received by a Sky receiver.

Hi, a few of my channels went last night, mainly bbc's and Itv's, channels like drama still there, my Irish channels also still there. My box doesn't let me do auto installation fir some reason so have to do it manually each time. Could anybody tell me the best frequency for these channels mentioned? Thanks

Also when I do a specific scan for certain channels I tend to lose channels I have scanned before?

Are you getting your signals from a satellite dish or an aerial?

Aerial mate. As I said some channels like Drama and Dave are both coming through no problem. It's a weird one

Maybe there is another way but not said what box you own,enigma2 receivers can run ABM plugin and when setup it updates itself with coming and going of channels.

The frequency / channel numbers for BBC etc depends on which transmitter you can get. Where I am in Dundalk I can get signals from Camlough and Belfast. There are other transmitters in NI and Wales which people can receive, depending on where they live. It is probably a weak signal problem, on some channels.

This is the Satellite forum and the thread is for discussions about new channels on Satellite. There is another forum for Terrestrial, aerial reception.

So its the Amiko issues on the sat side of box, check KOS for recent movement of channels in red on the right, sometimes on boxes i might do a full scan on 28.2 to update my old list and removes old non working ones.

Movement is common be on any platform.

Can I ask what the current transponder frequencies are for Sky News on an Ariva box please?

Is there a simple list of frequencies that's kept updated anywhere that you can just consult when a channel disappears in Ireland, it seriously pisses me off having to sort through all the Godawful sites every time this happens looking for the frequencies and the first couple are usually wrong.

Obviously it's me that's in the wrong but it's so unintuitive.

That is a very old box so it will give you hassle. But you may not want to change. You may see loads of posts on here about Tiviar plus and zgemma and the phrase AUTO BOUQUETS and that is the secret to keeping channels updated ie its a peice of software that you can configire to run, daily, weekly, monthly or when you lose a channel.

In your case you can do two things.

    1. Go here when you lose a channel and get the frequency.

    https://www.satellite.ie/acatalog/Frequently-Asked-Questions.html

    2. This was mentioned above and its here really we get all the info from. Where it says zap put in the channel and it even remembers it for nest time.

    https://en.kingofsat.net/find.php?question=SKY+NEWS

It is a mine of information. You can save as favourites as well.

Have a look and if still stuck then I will tell you the correct frequency.

Thats what I mean though, your first link gives this:

    Sky News 12070 H 27500

But that's halfway down a long list in the second link that everyone reccomends... How do you actually tell what you're looking for from the dozen or so options?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,501 ✭✭✭PabloAndRoy

I sub to this thread to see what new channels are on Astra.

Sorry to be pedantic, but hey..

Top tip for using KingofSat. If you sort by date, any recent changes will be brought to the top of the listing marked in Red.

just use this page, you're basically looking for where your dish is pointed.
    https://en.kingofsat.net/pos-28.2E.php

28.2 east is where the the dishes are pointed for sky, freesat, fta

then you can use the filters Gerry pointed out for the changes. look at the encryption one too on his photo, sorting by fta only.

Sky Arts confirmed FTA from 17th September...
Sky Arts will also be available on Freesat on channel number 147.

Not sure, it's using Freeway channel 147, that's the same channel they used for PickHD during the free period of premier league games. Don't know if that means anything, I would think it will be SD myself.
