this gets me every time - heard the first version of it when she was young and it's a nice song - but hearing her sing it when she's older - you can tell in her voice all the things she's done and seen and it gives the song new meaning - christ hearing it in the film Love Actually - it sets me off every time - but I love it - one of my favourite songs

Certain lyrics from Gotye's Somebody That I Used To Know reminds me of my father. For instance:

When I'm feeling slightly bitter about being single, Evansessence's "Call Me When You're Sober" reminds me of my ex to a certain extent...but nowadays the anger has been replaced with amusement, a slight pang of shame on my part and that "What the hell was I THINKING?!" sensation. We're still mates on Facebook and whilst we don't talk very much, I've met some great friends through him.
As such, this song makes me think of him and I have to laugh because it reminds me of the few good times we did share. This one is kind of an in-joke considering when we first met he had a ZZ Top beard. :pac:
