I love Gil Scott Heron, was gutted when he passed away. Will never forget the first time i heard this song...such fragility...very few people could ever match this guy in my opinion. I love it as a song because everyone has a breaking point, a moment when something will happen and what you were before is not what you are now...and the effect can be both long lived and far reaching.

I don't know the middle song but absolutely love Here Without You and Broken, those are amazing songs. Both sort of have meaning for me too so thank you for posting xxtattyberxx.

Love this thread! I've been through it all and hopefully I'm not repeating with this post but this song gets me everytime. I think the lyrics are just beautiful. Love the guitar sound as well....I tried highlighting my favourite lines but I actually would be highlighting the whole thing sooooo:

My OH is a musician and he wrote me a song last year about how we met and how we fell in love and two lines of it have always stayed with me

"I've been lifted,
I've been waiting for her"

He gave me the page he wrote the lyrics down onto and I've now got it framed in my bedroom, always makes me smile when I'm down. He can be terribly romantic when he wants

Awh that is unbelievably romantic!! You're a lucky woman.

Chorus reminds me a little of myself.

I love the lines "I have been searching for your touch, unlike any touch I've ever known" and "I have been bound by the shackles of love and I don't mind if I die tied up." Kinda reminds me of my bf. And the first couple of lines of the chorus speak to me as well.

This song has always meant a lot to me for various reasons, particularly these lines.
