    I applied but alas no joy :(

    Its just now im starting to regret ever going to college

    By the time i get a career relevant to what i studied , what i know will be useless / out of date

    Have faith Des, Marian Finucane studied to be an architect and is now probably one of the best broadcasters there is in Ireland.

    I guess that's the point I was making, lots of people work in areas where their 3rd level qualification wasnt in that particular field.

    Anyone seen any recent jobs going? have been searching high and low for the last few months and theres so little out there. I am from limerick but study as a student elsewhere and am looking for summer work but was turned down for a job on friday because I coudnt commit to working thursday and friday evenings from september onwards. The guy wouldnt even give me a proper interview when he saw where i went to college!! I think every employer may do the same:mad: He was really horrible and patronising about it as well. Its terrible that employers have so much power now they can treat everyone like crap

    Thats awful sophie - I think employers are using the recession as a great excuse to treat people like dirt! Even those lucky enough to have jobs are finding it tough.
