Watched the fire service pull a guy from the Shannon at 2am. He was doing a backstroke and two had to go in to get him.

He was carried out of the water and stuffed in the fire engine till the ambulance came along.

More than a hangover this morning he will have. No way he fell in. He was swimming, swam away from the life ring twice and the fireman as well. :(

What an asshole. Risked his own life and worse still risked the lives of the brave folk who went into the water to save him.

The likes of him should have their stupid faces splashed on the front page of the local paper for what he did, and I hope he is fined for it, and has to picjk up the cost of the emergency services.

It reminds me of another Limerick man who used to think it funny to go into the sea and make out he was in difficulties for a "laugh". A real piece of work that thought because he married into money he could do what he liked. He then did it twice in one day. The second time he drowned.

just did a search there for the "best breakfast in limerick" thread and i saw there has been quite a few, as well as the one i remembered, which by now if i'd dragged it up would have earned me a slap on the wrist for dragging up a zombie thread, lol, so, aaaannnyway...

just had a delicious mini-irish in o' connells, my wife had a fresh croissant, and a pot of tea for one was more like a pot of tea for three! i'd a coffee myself though, but exceptional value for money too.

and, i also noticed the rather unique "in training" menu, all sorts of healthy options like boiled chicken for protein build-up if you're that healthily inclined (im really not... :o), and a "baby bowl" option for toddlers- free! quite strange, but has to be commended! :)

I tried those pop-in-a-toaster waffles from Dunnes Stores. A rubbery texture but they're alright if you're hungover I suppose :p

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,484 ✭✭✭The Snipe

But Dunnes is so far awayyyyy!! :'(

Popping normal potato waffles in a toaster works pretty well too. It came in handy in college when the aim was to use the least amount of effort possible to cook dinner.
