Noticed a fella speeding up The Shannon and down Drumgoold on a quad yesterday evening circa 4:30pm... noticeably loud and fast.

New phone accessories shop open at the bottom of Weafer Street.

There's a new notice on the door of The Old House, something to do with the regeneration project. I was driving by so couldn't get a good look.

That notice has been there ages, its a derelict property notice

Some would say that the local council are just as guilty regarding damaging Vinegar Hill as local "eejits"

Sadly though there is no battlefield protection law in Ireland

This from Facebook. What are young people in Enniscorthy taught in school? Obviously not to respect their heritage? The '98 monument in the Mkt.Square is vandalised too and ignored by the powers that be.

Not sure what they are being taught in school but they should be taught respect at home first and foremost. My mother would have leathered me for that as a young one.

It's a new notice underneath that with a drawing on it.

I doubt it's in their culture to spend a lot of time in school, another one of their hobbies lately is throwing rocks at cars around the filling station at Drumgoold.

This Forum seems to be fading away. Is it because nothing is happening? Or is it just post Christmas blues when nobody has a euro in their pockets? Main streets deserted mid week. Pubs empty. :(

How about this for a topic of conversation? Below, the Sept.2019 press release from the Enniscorthy Chamber of Commerce welcoming the refurbishment of the Council offices in the Market Square:

Wexford County Council has confirmed that the long-awaited modernisation of Enniscorthy Municipal District Offices in Market Square Enniscorthy is finally to get under way, with staff vacating the Market Square offices later this week and moving to the recently renovated Enniscorthy Courthouse just up the street, for the duration for the contract works.

“The Market Square building has not undergone any significant investment for quite some time and as a result, it lacks the modern facilities and services expected in a public services building today” said Mr. Mackey. “Wexford County Council is investing approximately one million euro in a major refurbishment programme to modernise the building. The public will be able to enjoy much improved public facilities, including measures to improve privacy for those visiting the building, disabled access to floors above ground level, works to weather proof the building and a significant upgrade of the telecommunications system.

These much-needed refurbishment works will help ensure this iconic building reaches its full potential, not only in terms of improved public access to Council services in the Enniscorthy District for many years to come, but also in contributing to a rejuvenation of Enniscorthy’s Market Square and surrounding areas”, said Mr. Mackey.

The Chamber might as well close up shop if they are just going to parrot Council press releases. I would like to know just what members of the public were demanding that a million Euros be spent on doing up these offices when a lick of paint might have been warranted? The Council and their hangers on seem to be able to come up with unending ways of squandering money. The best thing that could be done with the offices is for them to be turned over for public use - say an Indoor Market facility or an Arts Centre - as refurbished offices are going to do absolutely nothing to regenerate the town centre. Anybody??

Well we already have the Presentation centre and the Athenaeum for the arts. Can't see an English Market style thing working in town. Its an important building, with an important function for local authority tenants, businesses and other local functions - not sure how the million is being spent but a lick of paint is too simple.

I just hope they don't make a mess of it like they did with the square itself

Did the same in Wexford, spent a fortune of taxpayers money to renovate a building which they are renting, we don’t even own it. Total wasters

Roast chicken compliments of the mother, was stopping in after work collecting the young lad and sure look... I couldn't say no.

They'd be better spending 1m revaming the square, re-introducing some parking, etc. The town is dead since they pedestrianised Rafter Street.
