This has been posted in the Inception thread plenty of times..

.. the only difference here is that you're promoting your blog in every one of your posts!

Really?! People need a "visual aid" to figure out a movie. Isn't a movie just a big visual aid? Humanity is becoming more and more inbred it seems.

Great concept and a well made movie but I reckon it could have been done better. I was able to follow it pretty well and no complaints about the price afterwards which can't be said for a lot of movies these days......I'm looking at you Hot Tub Time Machine!:pac:

hot tub time machine was an awe inspiring piece of comedy, so refreshing, and it was hilarious, don't see how anyone didn't like it.

loved inception, only one flaw, too much to type on the phone, but it's a very Big **** up in the story which makes absolutely no sense, someone please remind me tomorrow about it.

Excellent visual explaining Inception...don't click if you're still planning on seeing it.

Didn't need it explained, nice idea for a poster though.

When they were all in the hotel, and as the van was crashing off the bridge (aka, the first kick that they missed because they were still dreaming), really, arthur should have woken up from that kick because he was awake in the hotel, made no sense why he didn't wake up from that kick at all, I have looked it up to see was I missing something, and it just seems like a major plothole as nobody has been able to explain it.

That said, absolutely loved the movie.

Hot Tub Time Machine was not any of those things you just said. It contained maybe two laughs, and that's all.

Well it was definitely a comedy, and was also hilarious at the very least, you may not have a funny bone in your body.

There was also no need for Ariadne to tell Cobb of the shortcut Eames created into the hospital. Only Saito and Fischer needed to know. Cobb could have easily move out of earshot while she radioed Saito thus ensuring Mal wouldn't show up.

Also a fair point, And while I agree with you, it probably wouldn't have set up the ending fairly well :P

It didn't need an explanation tbh. Quite easy to follow.

Just to point out...I didn't actually say it needed explaination. What I said was that this was a good visual that explained it.

If its not needed, whats the point of it?

Agreed on no explanation needed, but I like this graphic better:

It's a visual. That's its purpose. To be visual.

I think this film is as complex as you want it to be, or depending on how much you pay attention. But the characters do explain it every time they go to a new level. Maybe people (that don't quite get it) are focusing too much on the intricacies of it and not the overall scheme of things...?

Ha, those cool posters make me want to watch the film again. I'll wait til the Blu ray though ;)

For those people that say that it was very easy to follow.

Please explain how saito and cobb got out of limbo by shooting themselves. Thanks.

It's not really important, is it? I mean the hard part was picking up that they shot themselves to get themselves out of limbo!

I imagine that Saito has 'lived' in limbo for so long that he accepts he's there, and Cobb is able to get him to realise that this limbo isn't reality (through remembering key phrases in a previous conversation) and so needs to give them a proper kick to get out of limbo, by shooting themselves.

that's all i got for ya lol

Thanks for the effort. To be honest I think that sort of sums up why some people say they didn't get it, and others wonder how this could be so cos its so straightforward. I think the people who say they couldn't follow it are just looking for a more rounded, definitive explanation to the more intricate details than simply understanding the dream levels etc. which are obviously straightforward.

I wonder if Nolan pulled out this diagram when he wanted the studio to greenlight the project :pac:

Here's a diagram Nolan used to keep track of things while scripting:

I understand everything about this film and i still think its crap. I was waiting for my matrix moment, you know the moment in the matrix where everything comes together and suddenly you realise your watching one of the best films ever.
To me this was over indulgent horse manure and the spinning top at the end was a feeble attempt to add a sense of doubt to a senseless film.

Stick to doing batman films nolan!!!

Hmmm... I can't say I experienced that moment with The Matrix myself. ;)

Although, as with The Matrix, there is possibly too much praise being heaped on Inception. But it's hard not to get excited when a summer action film this good comes around.

Perhaps the reason you didn't have a matrix moment with Inception is matrix came unheralded no one knew who the Wachowski's were so when it came out and exceeded your expectations of it you had your "moment" where as there was a burdun of expectation with Nolans Inception that you obviously felt it didn't meet .

Thats fair enough. I just didnt think it was that good. IMO it was and still is over hyped and not as intelligent as some people make it out to be.

Sorry is this has been asked, how did Eames get so close to the Fischer family (ie hanging about the door of the fathers bedroom/ward)?

Contacts working for Saito were able to get him a position and he was able to make any required documents himself.
