No personal attack there that I see. You did answer the question though, gotta link?

You posted that his mental health is in a terrible state as a fact, posting that sort of stuff adds nothing to the discussion, and considering you are going on reports that are a year or more old I don't know how you can draw these facts ?

landis interviewed on abc news tonight

    http://abcnews.go.com/Nightline/floyd-landis-nightline-interview/story?id=11226456
We asked Landis about his changing version of events.

Nightline: You realize you have serious credibility issues?

Landis: I think that'd be an understatement.

Nightline: You're an admitted liar and cheat.

Landis: What -- what is a person supposed to do when they make the wrong decision? I mean, are you committed to that path for good? Are you -- once you tell a lie, are you committed to tell that lie forever?

Nightline: Well, Lance says you have no credibility.

Landis: You just said I have no credibility.

Lance Armstrong forcefully has denied Landis' claims.

    Alleged Blood Transfusions

Landis told us he first started using perforance-enhancing drugs when he joined the U.S. Postal Service team, led by Armstrong.

"Lance Armstrong handed me some testosterone patches," Landis said. "It's just a little patch that you put on your skin. It's not like it's a-- I mean, a blood transfusion is a bit more dramatic. It's a large needle. And it's blood. But a patch that delivers testosterone? A trans-dermal patch? Not anything dramatic."

Nightline: Did you see Lance Armstrong receiving transfusions?

    Landis: Yes.

    Nightline: More than one?

    Landis: Yes, multiple times.

It's not just Landis any more. NYTimes: Armstrong team-mates corroborate Landis allegations.

    Interesting:
The rider, who has never tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs or methods, asked that his name not be used because investigators advised him not to speak publicly about the information he provided.

    It's not Hamilton then.

My money is on Hincapie. Suggestions of doping as a junior but nothing proven.

Is the statute of limitations 5 or 8 years ?

Armstrong could be back to a 4 or 5 times champion.

Won't happen of course cos Basso/Ullrich etc would then be champion.....

I'm not sure. The piece infers that he has yet to speak to them:
The rider, who has never tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs or methods, asked that his name not be used because investigators advised him not to speak publicly about the information he provided. He has not been called before the grand jury that has been convened in Los Angeles to investigate the case.

    ...

Several of Armstrong’s former employees and teammates — including George Hincapie, the United States national road racing champion — were contacted by Novitzky before the Tour de France, which began in early July.

Hincapie’s lawyer, Zia F. Modabber, had said that Hincapie was likely to talk to Novitzky once the Tour was over. Modabber, who is based in Los Angeles, did not return a phone call or an e-mail on Wednesday.

    10 years
The federal prosecutor Doug Miller is in charge of the case. Prosecutors are moving the case along because the 10-year statute of limitations on some of the charges they are investigating is set to expire next spring.

WADA/UCI statute of limitations is 8 years. This statute of limitations is why Bjarne Riis got himself reinstated as winner of the 1996 Tour, albeit with an asterisk. So anything to do with the official record of "wins" is that... but if he was found to have doped in the federal investigation I don't think the official record would matter so much.

The statute of limitations on the federal investigation is 10 years. So prison time, fines, etc. as well of course as public opinion.

Does that extend to lying to a federal investigation and putting yourself at risk of a perjury conviction and jail time though; it is a pertinent question especially considering the history of this investigator.

Also, loyalty is rarely tested when you're successful; when your life goes down the toilet you find out who your real friends are. Lance may have been powerful figure in the sport up to this point, but if he goes down I can't imagine many people wanting to go down with him if they can possibly avoid it.

Saw this on Velonation, One of the names is quite a surprise !!!

    http://www.velonation.com/News/ID/5137/Landis-investigation-riders-back-claims-that-Armstrong-was-involved-in-doping.aspx/?source=fp

In an email seen earlier this year by VeloNation, Landis implicated a total of 23 people as being either involved with doping, facilitating/helping cover up its use, or witnessing banned practices or the exchange of doping products. These are:

    Team manager Johan Bruyneel
Team co-owner and leader Lance Armstrong
Current and former pro riders George Hincapie, Dave Zabriskie, Levi Leiphemier, Matt White, Michael Barry, Jose Luis (Chechu) Rubiera
The other riders on the 2004 Tour de France team, namely Jose Azevedo, Viatcheslav Ekimov, Benjamin Noval, Manuel Beltran and Pavel Padrnos
    Former UCI president Hein Verbruggen
Former Phonak personnel Andy Riis, John Lelangue and Jim Ochowitz
    Dr Michele Ferrari
    Dr Allen Lim
US Postal service staff members referred to as ‘Pepe,’ ‘Duffy,’ plus an un-named bus driver
    Armstrong’s ex-wife Kristin

That came out in May, keep up ;)

    Landis said:

"I hired Allen Lim as my assistant to help with details and logistics. He helped Levi Leipheimer and I prepare the transfusions for Levi and I and made sure they were kept at the proper temperature."

So Leipheimer's blood co-efficient came in under the accepted limit and this allows for him to be referenced in a book titled 'Guaranteed Positive'?

Methinks Hans-Michael Holczer is gonna have a defamation suit on his hands.

You are being sarcastic with the "worlds greatest athelete" bit right?
