anyone know what keltech is like? the ad says general ops wanted salary 17,550 per annum, sounds like a very bad deal

Yea I know someone works up there very well!!! It's 45-48 hours a week. You're not asked to do overtime you're expected to do it!! It's basic rate 8.65 for all hours. No shift pay no OT pay no pay for unsocial hours, nothing extra really. And you're told you're changing shifts at the drop of a hat not asked now told!!! I'd say everything up there is illegal but they don't care

Shopped there a few times and the lads in the depot seem very nice.

Seen this on jobs.ie. Open day in February in the Tower Hotel for cabin crew staff for Emirates Airlines. Judging by the page you don't need experience, just need to have a Leaving Cert, be at least 21 and be healthy. It will be based in Dubai, good for anyone looking to get out of the country I suppose :)http://jobs.ie/ApplyForJob.aspx?Id=1149205

It might help as well not to show your excessive use of 'Text speak' as a written form of communication.
I find that employers like to see potential employees have learned something from 14 years of English education in school.

    You'll have to watch a short DVD at the start, then you'll get called into a room for a 15 minute interview, then after that you'll get called into another room for a second interview. In the second interview you'll be asked similar questions but slightly different. They'll ask you questions about the DVD obviously. Questions such as;

How you resolved a customer complaint or conflict in the workplace?
An example of good teamwork in the workplace.
How you improved a work situation?

Learn about Abbott, you'll find info on their website or google. (amount of staff and what they do etc)

They'll also ask you about yourself and the usual stuff.

They want you to use STAR when answering questions about the different situations in the workplace. so try it if you can.

STAR = Situation, Task, Action, Result.

Good luck in your interview :)

Was hoping to organise a lift before I started (I start on Monday) but I'm sure I can sort something the first week. Have a friend living close to clonmel so think I'll be staying with him until I sort something. Glad to know I can put my name down for car sharing. Thanks for the info :)

...so you have to work for 2 months before getting paid? :/
Some people gotta learn the hard way. How sad this country has become. The people you will work with might be nice for a while now that every is on the honeymoon period of having a job. But the people you work for are clearly scraping every scrap off the bones to line their own pockets.

That is not a nice job as you will find out.

Correct. It's all nicey nicey at first, before the politics and the bitchiness sets in. Before long you will understand that you are not a valued employee who has been taken on because your employer recognises your talent, skills or experience. You are merely a statistic. A number.

They might give you piddly little tasks or a made up title to make you think that you have a career, but that's only to keep you motivated to keep bringing in the stats.

It will be taken. Your soul, that is.

Negative, negative, negative! to quote Thumper
'if you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say nothing at all'.

How about thinking of some positives rather than been a doom monger

He has a point though, what sort of place expects you to work for two months before you get paid?

Could even be longer if its in lieu. 4 weeks unpaid, then a month paid but you dont get that until the next payroll date (like I get paid for march at the end of april for example)

edit: wait....is in lieu the right phrase :/

I have, but you know what? Having being unemployed for 18 months with all my money going into my mortgage, unable to socialise with my friends, not going anywhere cuz of no petrol, staring at my 4 walls and going mentally insane I really dont give 2 sh!ts about it.

There comes a point where you cant be choosy.

You can keep your negative comments, no skin off my nose im the one thats doing it not you.

Im a more happier person now in myself than I was before Christmas and I look forward to going in every morning.

    :)
