    Edit. Heavens have just opened

so it looks like the precipitation will be long gone to the east of the country by 9 or 10pm. the fog will be bad tonight once it does clear up. there'll be freezing fog as well i'd imagine.

an omnious looking deep layered cloud building up now. i think there would be thunder out of this if it was summertime.

Heavy snow where I am in North Tipp now for the last thirty minutes. Ground was wet so it was not sticking at first, but now its sticking on grass and the like.

Its 5.7c here and cloudy so if we do get anything it won't be wintry.

    Hi all,

Facinating that there's thunder/lightning being observed, last time I observed lightning was just before the last "snow fest" in Jan, where I could clearly see lightning over North Sligo/South Donegal.

Nothing much to report here from Enniskillen. Still snow on the ground (from that insaine amount on Wednesday!! :D) and the frost/ice on the trees hasn't cleared all day. Currently -0.3 here at the moment.

Anyone know if this band of showers is likely to progress north towards Fermanagh, or is it likely to be (in theory) a line being drawn from say Drogheda - Westport and places south of there are expected to see rain/sleet/snow??

+0.9c here. That band looks like its heading for here. Chance though that it might slip to the North and hit Dublin instead!

Radar shows the band in the midlands gathering and becoming more cohesive rather then showery.

For my area I think we will end up in the gap between the two lines. That means Weathercheck misses out again.;)
