49ers pick up Ted Ginn Jr. from the Dolphins for a 5th rounder. He needed a change of scenery and should improve the niners return game and maybe compete for the second WR slot opposite Crabtree.

Great move by the niners. Ginn may not be an elite reciever but in the return game he can be electric. If Singletary he can stop shying away from contact he could be very but he cant play in the slot unless he starts to relish the contact that comes over the middle. As it stands he has to play outsides the numbers and he hasnt been able to justify starting in that role as of yet

You know Im not a big fan of Ginn at all but I find that Vid is unfair to him. A lot of those catch attempts in that vid are under pressure quite literally a DB or LB on top of him as he tries to go for the ball. I do agree though he does drop a lot of footballs but that is more a mental issue with his fear of contact. But on the upside of Ted Ginn Jr. When he does make catches and makes good returns he gets yards. He just needs to toughen the fook up.

Jason Taylor to Jets deal is imminent:

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/04/20/report-jets-taylor-deal-imminent/

More importantly  Tory Holt to the Pats:

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/04/20/torry-holt-heading-to-new-england/

Although this has the makings of a Joey Galloway all over again but hes a few years younger and he had a more than decent season last season so i think it could work...worst comes to worst we'll just cut him

In my eyes Torry Holt is far better WR than Galloway and has far better hands.

If Taylor goes to the Jets I'll lose all respect for him.

    Taylor gone to Jets; gutted!!
Great respect for him, a player that has given his all for the Fins.

Taylor also confirmed that there was no offer made this offseason by the Dolphins, saying the Jets' deal "is the only offer. There is no other offer."
Shocked and dissapointed that he wasn't given an offer in Miami

Was always a fan of Holt - didnt see much of him last year at Jacksonville, wonder has he still got the legs?

Probably not the same as his Rams days but his catching ability is more important for me. One thing the Pats lacked in Galloway was his inability to catch. It was like he forgot how to. Holt pulled off a few nice long catches last year hopefully he finds re-rejuvenation to some extent with the Pats.

Well he'll be as solid a #3 wideout as there is in the league imo.

    Its official

I see the signing of Torry Holt as putting off taking a wide receiver in the early rounds of the draft. While this year's draft is incredibly deep in most areas its pretty light in highly valued wideouts. Next year is going to see three or four potential franchise WRs coming out and the Patriots have two picks in the 1st round, and hopefully one very early pick.

There are also the Randy Moss and Wes Welker questions. Moss played hurt for most of last year, he is getting on and is in the last year of his contract. I think BB needs to know if he can stay healthy, and whether he is still up to being the no.1 for New England.

Welker's injury is one that is very tough for a player like him. We have to see if he still can cut like he used to, we won't know that for sure until he gets some game time.
I think Edelman is up to handling about 75% of Welker's workload while he is out. Holt will make it easier for Edelman imo.
I like having both him and Patten as two experienced options. Of coure the big question is whether Tate can step up after a miserable rookie year, he could yet be an outstanding WR.

I hope he does but I just can't see that happening. He seems like he is going to be one of those guys that consistently injured. He will come back last a couple of games and injure the same knee again type player. Just look what you said about Welker. Tate suffered the same problem in College and ended up tweaking it again in Week 9 2 weeks after he just came back from it with the Pats.

Adam Schefter tweeted the following about 5hrs ago
Here are teams that Steelers have called about Roethlisberger: Rams, 49ers, Raiders, Bills, Jaguars, Seahawks and Browns.

Here are the known no's on interest in Roethlisberger right now: Rams, Bills. Others might not be, just not known yet.

I cant believe the Rams turned down Roethlisberger unless the Steelers were looking for No.1 overall. He would be perfect, it would allow them to rebuild their O-Line, and Ben can survive being hit a fair few times and still get the ball off!

I really can't see the Steelers letting Ben go to the Browns. I'd imagine the Steelers were looking for pick #1 from the Rams.

Yeah I thought they wanted a top 10 pick for him.

Raiders acquire Jason Campbell in a trade. Excellent few days for us. Campbell is a great pick up.

For a 4th rounder in 2012 according to Adam Schefter, Raiders making lots of sensible moves this weekend!

Im disappointed by this trade since the Pats have yer 1st round pick...why the one year the Pats have the Raiders 1st pick in next year's draft does Al have a nice draft and starts making some good moves?

Im a fan of Campbell, he could be a very good QB.

One of the reasons I'm so happy. Seeing you guys with a top 10 pick from us next year would have been pretty sickening, hopefully we can now turn it around on the pitch.

not crazy to release faneca, very expensive and gave up something like 6.5 sacks last year which is huge for a guard.

On paper Oakland has had a great draft.

Had a good feeling this was gonna happen.. and Holmgren knows how to look after QB's

Adalius Thomas has been cut by the Pats....see ya!

Delighted he is gone, he was an absolute waste of time and money and to add to that, last season he was a big whinger and a cancer in the locker room.

Yeah that all appears to be true. I was hoping though that maybe he would cop on and come back into the fold and fight hard for his place. Not to be unfortunately. Its good to get this done before TC as you just know that if he was released after TC that Rex Ryan would be straight in for him.

you know what though, he had a point, he got ostracised cos he turned up 9 minutes late to a meeting he forewarned the team he'd be late to. All the other players who were late didn't say anything but because he said the fine was tough he got victimised to a certain extent. The guy was slipping but part of it was to my mind the Patriots never figured out what to do with him, to be honest, his verstatility seemed to hurt them, which was the opposite of what happened in Ravens. That said he's merely the latest guy to leave the Ravens and be second rate, basically the equvalent of the Jets now. Teams will overpay and live to regret these guys in part. Scheme can be more important than talent.

Great move, but he should never have been traded out of Chicago in 2007. Chris Harris and possibly Major Wright. Love my hard hitting safeties :).
