For an injury plagued card I think some of the fights have potential to be brilliant!

Channel 417 ESPN at 3 a.m Sunday Jan. 3rd

Here's the card and my predictions.

MAIN CARD

* Rashad Evans vs. Thiago Silva - via a lot of Wrestling
* Paul Daley vs. Dustin Hazelett
* Joe Lauzon vs. Sam Stout
* Duane Ludwig vs. Jim Miller
* Junior Dos Santos vs. Gilbert Yvel

Ye real hard to get excited about this event especially after the stacked card they had last year on the 27th. Be good to see Paul Daleys stand up again but other than that...

I think more or less everyone you think will win will lose apart from the Rashad Evans and Matyushenko fights which I agree.

Yeah it is pro streaming and makes assertions which arent backed by factual evidence but it was the 140k claim which I was more pointing to. The other poster asked what I was referring to.

not the best of cards but there is some interesting fights, the prelimenary card is not great, don't really know any of the fighters.

I see on mma junkie Cantwell vs Matyeshunko is pulled off the card due to Cantwell getting an injury during the week.

Not as excited about this card as i usually would be for obvious reasons, but UFC have proved time and time again that you don't need Lesnar v Godzilla v Sean Connery in a T.L.C. Triple Threat Cage of Death Match to have an exciting cards (just loook at most of the UFN cards)

how many times have you seen a card on paper and thought "WOW! This will be great" to end up just being decent....and how many times have you thought a card was crap and it turns out to be one of the most exciting nights?

Paul Daley missed weight! Think weighed in at 172Lbs, therefore forfeits part(or all?) of his fight money. Even more determination to knock Hazlett sparkers now maybe?

He'll forfeit 30% i think, that seems to be the norm, also will not be entitled to any of the Fight of the Night bonuses

I know what ya mean about the card though, i rate 72 as one of my fav events, even though on paper it was pretty dire.

Hopefully there will be some real wars, still not floating my boat though

Is it as much as 30%? I thought it was 10% and that sum is transfered to the opponent.

I'm open to correction of course.

You're right. Its 10% of the basic and 10% of the win bonus. I think I seen a fighter get a bigger pay day than his 6 k basic salary ever though he lost. Got close to 40 k for losing to someone who did not cut right.

Apparently health officials would not allow Daley the usual extra hour to try and make the weight(only needed 1lb) as he looked in a real bad shape at that time. Wonder how this will effect him

Davies was very good on it, and Frank Mir and Kenflo agreed with nearly every point he made

The card looks crap but the main event should be a good fight.

Davies just engenders hate (from myself included at times) even though he isnt THAT bad for a boxing reporter doing MMA.

Mir was excellent here. I was very impressed in how GSP smartly framed his next fight, great businessman and classy dude all in one.

tis a different one so it is, this one has, bonnar, florian(or florini as dr phil said once ) and the insightful frank mir, gsp shows up also along with that gobshiat from the observer that annoys the shiat out of me.

ya never can tell, there is star attraction and then there is entertainment, there ain't much star attraction bar 'sugar evans', but there are some possible entertaining fights in there

i for one, am looking forward to the main fight,de santos fight, daly fight and the martin kampmann fight also.


fight night is coming up in just over a week with some promising bouts in there too(amir sadollah being one off the top of my head) so time to cheer up matey

The reason why I doubt we will see fights is that ESPN in America at least are allowed to show UFC footage hence MMA LIVE uses stills when reviewing events.
