Hopefully the supermarkets will start stocking up from tomorrow. Some fairly bare shelves at the moment, understandable. Looking forward to seeing how this goes. :)

if we're starting on monday how about a review of it on fri or sat (with pics )as it will give everyone a chance to cook the chosen recipe during the week

Yep, sounds good. I'll probably cook mine at the weekend but I'll definitely post up pics.

Sorry, how is this working then?

Khannie has gone first (separate thread). We give feedback or give it a go ourselves, post pics, ask for ideas, etc, then next week the second poster in this thread does a recipe, week 3, the third person and so forth.

    I think that's basically it.

I've stickied this thread, and added a link to the first post.

Great idea. It'd be nice if we got a good system going like, Starter one week, Mains the next and then Dessert, and then back to Starter, etc., etc. That way at the end of each month you could try the three courses all together if you wished.

Not mad into desserts but I think I'll give the Flapjacks a go tonight anyway. I'll definitely be adding chocolate. Good tip is to melt a chocolate bar that has caramel in it (like a Cadbury's Caramilk or Caramel to give it that extra unctuousness.

    Thanked for the word "unctuousness"

I'd love to get involved! I try to cook everything from scratch and am always looking for tried and tested recipes. However, I don't think I'm a natural cook and on the rare occasions that I try to deviate from a recipe, it doesn't turn out well!

So if this is still going by the time it comes to my turn, I might have to reference a cookbook, if that's not cheating??

Oooh, can I join in too please?:)

Missed the start of this thread as was away for a bit, but would love to learn new recipes.

Saw the flapjack thread, going to try them this weekend.

I'll post recipe two next week, but the measurements are a bit made up..

  • Registered Users Posts: 599 ✭✭✭shanagarry

I'll join! I'm not much of a cook (expect lots of plagerism for my turn), but I'm determined to improve this year.

I'll give the flapjacks a miss as I'm trying hard to be healthy, but I'll definitely make the bread as I'm abroad at the moment and it's one of the things I miss.

As I said, I'm on a health kick, so any healthy receipes would be much appreciated!

    Kudos, Faith.

Nearly a recipe of every week of the year! :)

We'll have a book out next. :pac:

Well, the photography forum do that every year.

Once people don't post recipes that are ripped from some other cookbook, or if they do, we could exclude them from our book.

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,216 ✭✭✭✭monkeyfudge

Eeek... we're already booked out until October....

Well put me down for one... if I'm still alive towards the end of Space Year 2010 AD... then I'll do one!
