i dont mean to be the downer here but some of things im hearing arnt too good, is it true that you cant change the wheels on the standard cars? i already know they are missing any kind of interior view (really pissed me off when i found out as thats 80% of the cars):(

I expected a bias towards Japanese cars in the game but 13 types of Civic, 23 MX-5s and 40 Skylines takes the biscuit.

On another note, where is everyone getting their collectors edition from?

Gamestop are doing the collectors edition for €64.99.

Amazon are doing it for around €71 with the current exchange rate.


If Gamestop's price is really that then i will go with them i think.

It's much easier to make variations of a given model than to make a totally different model from scratch. So don't think you could just exchange 40 Skylines for 40 original different models in terms of the work put into the game.

I've never been a racing fan, but if this game gets the reviews to match the hype then I might be tempted to buy it for the multiplayer just to see what the big deal is.

The car list is dissappointing. Perhaps these cars (the Ferrari FXX, for example) will be added later as part of downloadable content. Also no Spa-Francorchamps.:mad:

But at least it's almost out. I can't wait for the multiplayer as long as the races are relatively clean;).

Will Xtra-vision do a midnight release, do you think?

Does it really matter? Are over 200 premium cars not enough?

The way I look at it is the 800+ standard cars are an extra bonus on top of the 200+ extremely detailed premium models.

well to me it seems lazy as they have had 6 years to work on this game and they come out with only 200 cars with a cockpit view (i know this doesnt matter to alot of people but it does to me) whereas forza 3 had 2 years dev time and came out with 400+

disappointed at the lack of proper porches in it no 917 or 956!

track list is a little meh as well not enough real world tracks although it does make up for it a bit with monza and laguna seca

my main gripe is the limited number of cars with an interior view as its the view i play driving games from

Apparently the RUF cars are porches without emblems.

no im disappointed that some people dont seem to care if a game innovates a genre or not i mean if PD put a gt5 badge on gt4 bring it out in hd and still some people would be gullible enough to buy it because itz da GTz yo

aye RUF are a German porsche tuning/modding company but i would of liked the porsche gt3 lemans cars to be included and of course the legendary 917 and 956. oh well one day a game will have them

forza has porsche exclusivity for a lot of the models i believe

at least i think thats what one of the ea lads working on hot pursuit told me

Car list seems to be a lot like GT 4

I'd wish they'ed add in more Ford such as the Sierra and the Xr2 !

Also would of expected to see a few more diesel cars, only one I saw was the 120d.

I'm a bit disappointed with the track list too, but am very much looking forward to this one.

I loved GT4. It's not a patch on iRacing or LFS or GPL, which are amazing, but for pick up and play racing, it doesn't get much better.

Time to unfollow thread now that I have a release date. It was inevitable that the whingers would be along, get good news and moan about something else. If it doesn't have a cockpit view for your favourite car or is so meh then don't bother buying the game.
The constant delays were worth complaining about but I couldn't give two monkeys bout some of the moaning that this and that car won't be included. Sounds like spoilt brat syndrome. I'm excited that ill be playing this game in the next few days and will judge it for what it is at that stage

People sweating the small stuff can become annoying if it's an aspect of the game you care little about, but don't knock the well executed whinge!

True believers, who dismiss valid complaints, are what I find most irritating.

While I agree with you about the wait the only thing I've been whining about is the price of the signature edition(cause I'm a poor student) and no cockpit view in all cars (cause come on Forza can do it in a short space of time so why not GT5) other than that I cant wait.

Why dont you just buy the regular game. All the stuff the signature edition comes with you will probably never get any value out of.

Yeah I know its just a little niggle I would love it just for the shininess but just cant justify it, I would rather spend the money on a driving force GT:D
