This course seems to really suit Shane and the broadcasters have latched on to this, which is great. I just wish they were not so far behind us timewise.

Agree. I will need some serious Irish interest to persuade me to watch until 3 a.m on Monday morning!

That's what Sky+ is for. Go to bed, get up early and don't turn on the radio until you've watched the previous night's golf.

Brilliant par save on 17, followed by a great drive on 18... Some performance from him.

Another level par round is a good result. Probably could have been a shot better but still excellent play and well in the hunt for tomorrow

    Most definitely, great round.

A lot at stake for him tonight, outside chance of a win, no doubt, but a good solid final round would probably secure him his PGA tour card, which would be significant for him & also the WR points!

I think three shots back realistically unless he starts great guns a win is out of reach. I'd take a round of -1 or -2 on what will be even quicker greens today. If he can consolidate and get a top 5 finish I'd be delighted. All I know is I won't be heading to bed till about 2:30am tonight!

Top players like Spieth can drop 2 shots in one hole so anything is possible. I really think Lowry can do it

    Is this only on Sky?

Apparently JB Holmes and Shane Lowry's pairing is the featured group on fox sports and their round will be streamed on the USGA website.

So I take it this means he'll be on sky's coverage a fair bit tonight then so?

It's going to be a long night!! ;-)

    What time is tee off?

A really mature performance so far. He has played well and is in a nice position where the spotlight won't be on him but with a solid round he could creep up the leaderboard into a playoff or better.

Not sure I'm happy with Shane talking to Sky.

He did look nervous. As you would expect.

Just level first few will do and settle in.

Looked really nervous on the tee there. Hope he gets away with that and he should settle down then.

Up from 57th last week. Good week for Shane - it was great to watch.

He must be nearly up with McDowell at this stage? really want to see Shane in the Olympics and he usually plays well in the latter part of the season.

He's actually ahead of McDowell - 45th versus 48th. I'm not sure when the cut off point will be for Olympic selection - presumably around 12 months from now.

Just looked it up. Qualification for the Olympics will be based on world rankings as at 11 July 2016. Being in the top 100 should be good enough to qualify for the second highest ranked Irish golfer (assuming Rory will remain the top ranked). If we want to have more than two representatives, they will all have to be in the top 15.

Is that because of the position he finished or the money he earned?
