Aye, I'd like to hunt down the CD version of Exhibitionist. It's not as rare as the DVD though which is starting to hit the £30-£40 mark in some places, depending on condition and it's creeping higher still. Must have been a low pressing run?

Not as bad as The Other Day or Metropolis though, they command around £30-£50 for the CD, depending on condition.

I'm going to start rebuilding my Autechre and Venetian Snares collection. Maybe pick up some other Planet Mu items along the way. Autechre vinyl and CDs can fetch a kings ransom though... :(

Picked up these on my travels over the weekend. Very happy with Team Buddies as it can still command a high price on ebay. Got it for €2 but it has no manual:mad:

Now these next lot I hoping someone can shed a bit of light on. At first I taught they were all PS1 knock offs as the covers and disc art are of a pretty poor standard but..... they all have the name of the game printed on the other side of the disc ( see the bad photo at the end )

    scaled.php?server=856&filename=20120507091.jpg&res=landing

    scaled.php?server=23&filename=20120507092.jpg&res=landing

    scaled.php?server=831&filename=20120507101.jpg&res=landing

Here's a good example of a poorly printed disc but has the game name perfectly printed on the other side
    scaled.php?server=717&filename=20120507094.jpg&res=landing

    scaled.php?server=521&filename=20120507103.jpg&res=landing

So knock off's or something else, any info most welcome.;)

Damn, I was hoping someone wouldn't say that. Looks like €20 down the drain so. Cheers for the heads up;)

Cheers Boss - took a hell of alot of patience, but I got there in the end. Its not perfect by any means bodywork wise, but the screen is gorgeous.

The less said about Jeff the better ! it didn't come from him, and Ronnie didn't have any for sale, so I had to source it local

Do all of these Atomiswaves come which huge Taito plaques on the front ? would have thought it would say Sammy somewhere on it ! but alas its nowhere to be seen.

That's pretty much all that counts.

You see the Sammy wording on the CP, not sure about anywhere else.

I think the implicit 'as long as it's gaming related' part went out the window when vinyls, dvds, cds and everything else became fair game :p The day I spend more than a couple of euro on underwear I'll be sure to post pics here!

Ahhhh, I remember now, it's that one from Adverts. Has the same Player 1 sticker. Tell me you bought the whole lot from him!! I'd love that Dreamcast kiosk he has.

What's the story with Jeff? Seemed like a decent chap when I had a word with him. Was going to be my next port of call regarding a candy.

3 postal projectiles landed today full of Vectrex Goodness!

    IIq9G.jpg

    BDx5t.jpg

First up is this "scratched" Pole Position overlay which I received FREE from Vectrex Mad of vectrex.co.uk, (he just said to cover the shipping!) Extremely kind of him! :)

TBH it looks in great condition to me, ( until I dropped it first thing this morning, onto the kitchen floor, where dog hairs and grit attached themselves to it!;) )

To the right of it, is a Hand Made pleather Vectrex Dust Cover which I purchased from papa*nannysfunstuff, they also do them for other retro consoles.

More about that lovely item in this forum post

And now for the big package from Holland,

which was extremely well packed and left a sea of bubblewrap on my desk....

    6GiWb.jpg

5 complete Vectrex Games - Hyperchase, Scramble, Starhawk, Cosmic Chasm and Web Warp!

The Vectrex is the only console so far that has me wanting to collect my favourite games for,
due to the damn games having unique overlays and having some really cool packaging!

Only have the thing a few weeks, and have spent over 300 on the little fecker already, and I haven't even bought a multicart yet!!! :pac:

I love the little feckin thing to bits though!

Took delivery today of my latest batch of NGage games, factory sealed from Ninja's Castle in the UK. This brings my collection to 24, practically mid-way to the system's full library, and I've a further 8 due to be delivered next week.

Don't worry about spending big money on a Vectrex and all the toys.
Pick one up, try to locate one in the UK perhaps, cut down on shipping costs with someone to pick it up, maybe on hols or business.
The built in game, Minestorm, is enough to keep you going until you pick up a VecMulti cart from Richard Hutchinson, and then your purchasing is, potentially, done, given every game and excellent homebrew is now available all legal like.
Collecting genuine carts and overlays is cool but can get expensive.

The price of a preowned 360 will get you a Vectrex and the infinite awesomeness therein, once it's loved I reckon it'll provide a lifetime of fun and it really gets the attention of non-retro gamers and gamers alike.

Here's some links to some German Veccys going for reasonable money, the real cost is in shipping but look into it...

would you not still need the overlays for each game?

thanks for the links, but I'd be more inclined to wait for another UK auction.
I'm always a bit sceptical that with them mostly dealing via bank transfers in Germany, you won't have the same protection as with paypal if something goes wrong

would you not still need the overlays for each game?

The overlays only really add colour to the vectors, you can play them fine without. Most of the heads here rather them without actually.

I'm not too fond of overlays in daylight when you can see them, but in the dark they look great.

Here's a video of some of the more recent stuff I got for the Dreamcast:

would you not still need the overlays for each game?

Colour is something I really dig, and after using the overlays tonight in the dark I love them! I can definitely see myself using them more often than not.

Probably best sticking to buying them for your favourite games, or just very unique overlays.

I think I might buy 2 more complete vectrex titles and then some homebrews.

I won't have use for the original carts really when I get the multicart, and the manuals are not something I'd look at more than a few times.

But the overlays would definitely be what I'd like to hold onto the most.

Shipping was cheap for my Vectrex from Germany, it only came to 20 quid with DPD, and was organized by the seller and shown upfront.

I did ask that it would be packed carefully in advance, after what happened poor safetyboys Veccy, its worth asking the seller to cover it in lots of bubble wrap, inside a stiff cardboard box before paying.

Please make sure you get it packed carefully!!! 7134812663_93f0d949a8_b.jpg

Notice how well it fits in a shoe box!!!!

Also notice as he didn't have the controller inserted where it should be, the whole corner smashed in!
