Feckin Klipso bars are like brittle cardboard! I always imagined that's what cold war Russian chocolate tasted like.

It's all worth it for the 'Finished a Big Time Trophy in one go', that you get.

As well as the Klipsos and Mint Crisp you have Macaroon bars also.

Does anyone remember the Smiley Bars?

They were basically Orange Flavoured Chomp bars. I miss them. :(

Used to love Tayto Snaps as a kid, but these days its like biting on air bubbles.

They're not a bit dense, I'm not sure if this was always case.

Macaroon is one of my favourites and so is snaps, I had a snaps voyage awhile back, they were really hard to find.

    Hmm,
    Pink Panther Bars
    A quarter of apple drops
    Spangles
    Jawbreakers
When Snickers were called Marathon bars
    Lollipops for a half penny.

    The 70s were good times!

    Pink panther bars = yummy!

So it's now the arcade/retro/sweets and junkfood/terry pratchett/ limerick bashing forum.

There's a grotty little shop next to the radio station where we record the podcast that sells all these sweets at a fraction of the cost that shops in Temple Bar do.

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,698 ✭✭✭✭K.O.Kiki

My probably favourite sweet right now are those nougat bars you can find at the counter in some shops.

Also I don't buy ANYTHING Nestle for ethical reasons.

A good bar of nougat with nuts is just divine.

We're Pink Panther bars the sponge cake yokes with bright pink icing? They were AMAZING.

Apple drops were grand but for me it was all about cola cubes, sherbet lemons, acid drops and chewing nuts. Oh and fizzy cola bottles and astro belts!

I remember snickers being called Marathon too. Christ I'm old. :(

Not old enough to remember half pennies and decimalisation though. :D

Cafferys , the guys who made the macaroon bar on top if I remember rightly , are based around the corner from the house I grew up in.As were Brennan's bakery , so basically half the mornings I remember , everything smelled either of cooking toffee, or baking bread.
    Lovely!
A few years later I ended up living in clonee, which is downwind of the Keypack rendering plant...
    Not so lovely!

    Drat and double drat!

Got my second pink micro today. Screen is scratched! Any idea where the best place is to get a replacement faceplate? Or hey does anyone have a spare?

Oh and you gotta live early morning auctions on the eBay. Just wind 3 brand spanking new Terry Pratchett collectors editions for less than what you would earn working in Supermacs for a few hours before lunch.

Got a bundle of Snes carts before for a very reasonable price, that included: Sunset Riders, Yoshi Island, Donkey Kong 2, Pop'N'Twinbee and more.

One from adverts is fine, apart from the box missing its cardboard slip.

Got this one off eBay for €8 incl post.

It's just the micro no charger, all that. And with it was a spongebob game and a knock-off Mario game. Haven't had a chance to test it yet....

Still, great deal. They usually sell for at least €30 or so.

So after discovering an A500 was far too slow for Elite II, I purchased a boxed 1200.
    It's also too slow :pac:
Ah well. Time for some quality anyway.
