Thats an AKMS yeah, shops get it wrong all the time.
    Ta for that.

Now, do you know anyone selling CYMA AK mags? :)

Woops, I don't think I was being clear there. I am after CYMA mids as that is what I was told is the best for the AKMS.

I have seen these, but I can't see anywhere that has them in stock.

If the CYMA are not available, what is a good option for mid-caps?

These the guys you looking for??????

They could do the job. Do you know how well the SRCs work with Kalash?

And if they are problematic, are the plastic MAG ones (like these) good for a DBoys/Kalash?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,261 ✭✭✭Puding

you may need to take a small amount of material off the end of the mag catch on the kalash as it is slightly to long for mag brand and other magazines but this is a well know issue and easily resolved without to much issue, once this is done they feed fine

I always thought that metal AK mags tended to wiggle front and back and had terrible feeding problems?

Also, Im looking for a railto stick a scope on my AK.
http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/9200/dsc00262bu.jpg is the mount on the AK istelf but I need the rail and I have no idea what Im looking for exactly. Its VFC btw.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,011 ✭✭✭sliabh

Is this the rail you are talking about?
    BATTLEAXE_MARK1.jpg
$20 from eHobby, or a surprisingly pricey €33 from one of my local shops.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,902 ✭✭✭MagicIRL

Hmmm yeah, That looks like it alright - How do I know if it will fit though? Is it 1 size fits all or will I need a VFC specific rail?

If the part maker did their job right it should be a one size fits all since (AFAIK) there is only one standard Eastern Bloc dovetail mount design since all their kit was standardised.

I'd recommend getting an MTK-83 replica simply for realism (plus, I think it's made by VFC). Unfortunately it's out of stock but you might find it elsewhere.

as far as i know all the AK have the same side rail (there is another type of rail SDV i think?)

The CYMA mags are great, I have a set. Try uncompany, ehobby, cobra airsoft and any retailer you can think of, they sell out fast.

Depends on brand of aeg and magazine, most are fine, mine fit rock solid.

Tried them all, and then some. They can't be had, like pretty much all the CYMA kit

The word here in Austria is that we shouldn't expect the Chinese factories to get back up to speed until the Shanghai expo finishes at the end of October.

I guess I had better go looking for an alternative to the CYMA mags then so :)

I will make it clear up front that I AM NOT/NEVER WILL BE an AK fan, but even I thought this was interesting, particularly the mags.

Agreed Puding - apart from the beta mags - which I like (but not for a proper AK).

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,261 ✭✭✭Puding

its very much like the partizan suit, loss fit can be worn over other cloths but tbh normally worn on its own

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 83 ✭✭cpt slippyfist

good stuff thats the way i wanted to use it but wasnt sure how lite it was
would ye say if i order it in the same size's as my gorka would it be ok or dose it fit very big

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,261 ✭✭✭Puding

gorka is a rather loss fit itself so normally would just go with that size, might be a good idea to talk to dmitry on msn to just double check what the cut is like, remeber you want the baggy fit as it helps to break up the human form :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 83 ✭✭cpt slippyfist

will do but i already gave him a e mail last week and he never got back to me a well wat can ye do ha :)

Nah. I seriously doubt it. For one thing, the AKS-74U is notorious for being woefully inaccurate with a heavy recoil so very few people ever use them in real life and there'd be barely any point in putting a scope on... unless you want to see how far you missed by. :P

Then again, they do look seriously cool.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 83 ✭✭cpt slippyfist

ye thought that myself thats why i wouldn use it in a game

pity it looks so cool tho :)

no im just goin to lash a pbs silencer on it and leave it at that

  • Registered Users Posts: 281 ✭✭delta-boy

    Dont order from there!

Thats the old site, and RussianCombatGear closed down. The owner was a bit dodge aswell...

Dont waste money on something you wont get. The site still takes orders but doesnt actually 'order' anything.
