Just a quick question about this...how do you go about registering for this and what exactly do you need? I dont have Sky but my parents do and last I checked they don't have a 360. I'm guessing I can register with their details, yeah?
Yep - according to this site (their tip for the thrifty) you can :)

    According to OXMs Twitter:

Sky is apparently working on the Sky Player problems. It's currently gone from our NXE menus. No Eurosport table tennis for us yet...

Dam! i was looking forward to that table tennis all week

but on a serious note to everyone you need to register first on the site i kept getting errors but i kept refreshing and it worked i need a sky id ( dunno what that is ) but when i entered my user name and password (from the sky player site) into sky on the xbox it said im having network problems or somethin even though i was blatently connected to xbl with gold .. hour later and its gone conpletly .. cant wait till they get it workin, i have sky multiroom so the basic 24 channels are freeeeeeee

Where did you read that? It wasnt up at around 5am this morning when I checked and the few I know who managed to download it didnt get RROD. No one on Xbox forums saying that either.

Over heating of the graphics card.

    100% BS

The problem is a server issue on Sky's part and they hope to have it sorted Today, new it wouldnt be long before someone said our consoles are in danger of exploding.

Not sure if it's back yet but if you go to my profile- manage account- download history and go to sky you can select play and get onto it that way (only if you got it earlier) it's working for me now I'm watching sky news.

Quick question as i'm not at home.. is it possible to setup, then delete a Sky sub, only to set a new one up?

Reason I'm asking is wanna give this a go tonight (and I'll use my own "no-frills" Sky sub) but at the weekend, I'm gonna get my brothers Sky sub (with multiroom etc).

But hope it won't be bound to my sub if I add that first.

I want to do something similar, I have sky, but I don't have the sports, might set it up with my Dads subscription details as he as all the sports.

It's actually working now if you downloaded it this morning. Go to manage account and the recent downloads.

There's some amount of movies on demand!! Very impressed.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,450 ✭✭✭Batesy

You need a skyid from sky.com. I already registered for skyplayer for the laptop so I was ready to go.

Here's a question I was wondering: There seems to be a Monthly subscription for Live TV - do you have to have a subscription to view the on Demand stuff, or is that Pay Per View?

I think some of it may be free.

Check out this article. Worth a read.

Sky Player. Free if you subscribe to Sky Movies on your household sub.

I searched for the comedy tab and it had around 140 movies in comedy alone!!!

When you click on a movie it buffers for about 20 seconds and then plays.

    Pretty Impressive.

I actually don't see the point in having Zune at all when you have all these movies on Sky Player.

I thought this myself. I guess it's for those without a Sky sub. Having said that it might be worth paying the sub for movies instead of paying about six euro at a time for a terrible selection of movies.

    Hi Guys,

Where you sign up for your SkyId it says
"as a Sky TV customer you can watch a selection of great Sky TV programmes on your computer for free by entering some details that match your digital satellite account."

What are these free channels? Are they the channels that you are paying for on normal SkyTV?

    Cheers!
