It's both difficult to believe and disappointing that this road is 2+ years away from opening. Progressing very well in fairness.

When do you think Kiltiernan will be open or how will they manage the transition? South side of bridge looks very narrow for 2 lanes of traffic

People thought the overpass at Newlands Cross was too narrow too, before it opened :) Perception, perhaps..

They can only fill out as far as the existing road for now, but when doing the tie-ins they will fill out more when the traffic is diverted. probably stop/go system for 2 months for the tie-ins.

The dreaded stop/go, I was fearing that. Based on Labane tailbacks a few months ago will be a big delay. Anyway it's all for a good cause.

Would turning off at Labane and heading over to Craughwell or Athenry to use the Old Dublin Road or the motorway make any difference?

Would not be traveling at peak times.

You're talking 25-30 minutes for Labane - Craughwell - Oranmore via Old Dublin Road, all going well.

For Labane - Craughwell - Athenry - Galway via motorway you're looking at 30-35 minutes...all going well.

I reckon it's about 15 minutes from Labane to Oranmore.

Not sure the additional mileage and exposure to ****ty roads can be justified for what most likely will be zero gain in time.

Are those to allow the roundabout to run underneath?

Does anyone know if they will be continuing the M17 to Collooney in Sligo? As this road is like driving on a camels back? Or will it be dual carriageway? Or will it never happen??
