not to happy with Super Mario 3 either. The music just sounds different and the whole 'just what I needed' spiel. Why change a classic?

Mario 3 on GBA is absolutly amazing it's better than the NES version IMO with the added bonus of being able to play it in work:pac:

I quite enjoyed Super Mario Bros. 2 on the GBA, back in the day when I bought it at launch with a White system and the marvelous F-Zero Maximum Velocity. I was only playing it yesterday and it still fun.

Talking of GBA, I've still been busy playing my Micro this last few days. Once I polished off the Minish Cap, I got stuck into F-Zero GP Legend. I really like this game. Is it better than the first one? Its pretty much the same with a better boost system and combat elements, with a so-so story mode. You can't go wrong with either really. These games are some of my favourite handheld racers of all time - I prefer them to the handheld Mario Karts as they have better courses and offer more genuine racing. More challenging too and less randonm, though Mario Kart on the GBA is an excellent game all the same.

I picked up Wario Land 4 last night for a bash as well - I got this game as a Christmas gift in 2001. I realsied upon firing it up that I only had one level to beat so I went about doing that. Went on to fight the end of world boss before opening up the final world.... which only had one level in it :( That was strange as the other worlds had four each, but luckily it was an excellent stage and I went on to fight the final boss. She was tough but fair. A stern challenge but once you worked out what to do it was do-able. I was delighted to be challenged and not frustrated on this final world. Great stuff then, and it only took me a decade to beat the game!

Same here, looks great on the astro but a god damn hard game.

Also giving Guardian heroes a go. Absolutely cracking side scrolling beat em up game from the masters Treasure.
They always break the mold in every genre they develop in.
Available on XBLA now,I highly recommend people try it if they never have.

Playing Marios Picross on the GBA via flash cart, fun fun fun!

Finished the wonderous Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes on the DS. Yeah its not retro but its worth mentioning as its probably the best game I've played on the format. Perfect in just about every way, with some of the msot addictive gameplay out there.

The last day on it I put in a good ten hours to finish it off! And every minute of that monster session was fantastic. A little masterpiece than can be picked up new for less than a tenner.

Spent some time today on Blazing Star and wrecked my hands with endless button mashing! Followed that up with a bit of Last Resort, wrecked my hands even more.

Finishing off the long weekend with a quick blast of Wonder Classic on my Wonderswan Crystal. Can't beat a quick and easy golf game for a few minutes of gaming. :)

Dark Souls, making me feel this big right now!

And mixing it up with Mario Picross, on the GBASP-ags101, via flashcart, and having a blast, picks me right up after dying for the nth time!

Having a bash at Sunset Riders on the candy cab(through Hyperspin/MAME as I don't have the PCB).

I've never really given it much of a go at all so decided I'll put some time in tonight and see what all the fuss is about.

Lots of people seem to love it.

I'll see how it goes

    Sunset riders! Love that game.
Myself and brother use to think the boss at stage one said 'marry with my money'. He doesn't say that.

Is it just me or is King Of The Monsters bloody hard!?

My fingers are bleeding from intense button mashing!

And what's the deal with starting each fight on the energy bar you finished the last match on? Talk about unfair!

I've sunk so many hours into Point Blank DS today, it's unreal, really. Such a quality and considered translation of the cab's glory onto the DS. I've also been sneaking in a few rips of Metal Slug 7 (DS) and Tetris DS, just to make sure no braincell goes unfried.

    Master of the Universe

King of the Monsters is only really fun on two player. And that's because you spend half the time laughing at the ridiculous destruction and button mashing.

Single player ain't so fun :(

I had it on the Spectrum!
May have lost some of its awesomeness on such a device, but fun anyways!
No, wait, it wasn't King of the Monsters but something similar, 2D, destructible buildings, people to eat, etc....
