Didn't someone re-write that recently, I seem to remember some whining on world-of-spectrum about it ?

Yeah there is a 128k version of it floating around the interwebz.

Lethal Enforcers 1 & 2. After all these years I finally got my hands on the rare pink player 2 justifier lightgun. Dual weilding is way too much fun!

That's good fun alright I've the pink gun too , I got it at a car boot sale for 50C :)
Picked up two SNES guns like that too.

Worst gun ever must have been the spectrum one. The lethal enforcer gun still feels good, you still get the dirty harry feeling.I played it last year again and it still beats most Wii shootings games imo.

Best light gun game, for me at least, is the two Virtua Cop titles.
Just fantastic, particularly the second one.
I have them on the Saturn, with it's replica gun, and on the PS2, which looks even closer to the arcade version.
It's a pity they didn't re-release them for the Wii, as they did with House of the Dead 2&3, despite your feelings about Wii Shooting games it was the only practical format for lightgun games because of the functionality of the Wii-mote, which gave us such pretty brilliant games like House of the Dead Overkill and Dead Space Extraction.
We shall not speak of the Mad Dog McRee games, as they are both tripe, even in their arcade forms.

Another pretty outstanding title is Sniper Scope, obviously choice 1 for play is in the arcade with Dat gun, but the console conversions are top, with an excellent compilation of them, 1,2 and 3, on the OG Xbox, and a very impressive port on the GBA.

House of the Dead Overkill was one of my favourite Wii games, truth be told! And the best of the shooter games I played on it. Certainly beat the two Resi ones (which were still fun to play) and just beat out Dead Space Extraction.

WiiMote shooters have to be built around the wiimote though. The Wiimote basically ruins HotD 2 (3 is different due to the shotgun blast in that game). Virtua Cop being all about making accurate shots just would not work with the wiimote unfortunately. It would just be way too easy.

That post of mine was from 7 years ago but my pink justifier is still going strong. :)

They're really well made lightguns, especially for the amount of frantic trigger pulling in Lethal Enforcers 2

Ever try the xbox/ps2 Silent Scope sniper rifle? It's actually pretty cool, good attempt at making a home port of the arcade game.

Very true. My only problem with HotD Overkill actually would be that the gun, cool as it is, has the Wiimote too far forward, making the gun very much front heavy, and not that comfortable for extended play sessions.

Well, perhaps the opportunity was lost with the PS3 and the Guncon 3 peripheral.
I know I had a lot of fun with Time Crisis Razing Storm they released for it.
I think it's a more accurate system than the similar Wiimote arrangement, but seeing as the game mentioned has everything that works with it... probably only worth getting if it's cheap.
You can get Time Crisis 4 Razing Storm/Deadstorm Pirates and the Guncon 3 with Time Crisis 4 for a combined €26 from CEX and it'll work on any TV.
You can also use the Move controller if you must, not sure how that shapes up in terms of accuracy though.

I suppose you could mod the gun with a weight in the stock, balancing the weapon and making you more of a badass with the mofo zombie horde!

I'm still annoyed Sega never ported Virtua Cop 3, it ran on Xbox hardware FFS. That game was fantastic.

Well, we got Confidential Mission beforehand, and it was fun, though pretty obscure compared to the recognition at the time of the VC brand.
Another big Sega release was Ghost Squad on the Wii, I know it was warmly received but I never got the attraction myself.

I thought the ghost squad games were great fun. Must actually pick them up myself as well as the Gunblade conversions on Wii (gunblade being a game perfectly suited to the Wii as well).

Gunblade NY's score attack and its branching paths are just game crack.

I don't have the Gunblade game, it all seems so... random, just point and spray at the screen.

Might make a new thread on this topic...

Whatever happened to that massive Gunblade cab Myrddin had?

I wonder did anyone ever get it working in the end?

The holding those giant vibrating guns made it so much fun.

    Hit me with your innuendo!

Super Mario World, you evil bastard.

So I hit a wall that was the end of Way Cool. Just couldnt get Mario through the two little black fluff dudes at the end. Every time I could see the end of the level, so frustrating. After about 15 attempts (!) I finally got it. Was fairly bloody elated and progressed to the next level.

So I try the next level and die half way through. Realized it was my last life, so game over.

'Cool! Time to give this new level another go'

    Game resets.

Way Cool had to be completed again.

MOTHER****ER!!! so it doesn't automatically save after every Special level.

Thankfully, because I've now played Way Cool about 30 times, I got through it again on the first run through. Proceeded to do a legger then to a ghost house and save so I never have to go through it again.

Next few levels were piss easy in comparison.

If you go back and clear a ghost house or castle again it will save.

Yeah that's what I've been doing alright. For some reason it saved after some of the special levels so I assumed it would after Way Cool, apparently not though!

That's one thing I love about the PS2, I'll be on my death bed and there'll still be games I've never heard of for it!

    :pac:

Not there yet! I think I'm on about 86 now so another good 10 to go.

On a separate note, I must have been living under a rock as I didn't know the game colour palette changed to Autumn after finishing those levels.

Real 'wtf?!' moment to see that happen on a game you've been playing since the early 90s!

I'm playing through Secret of Evermore at the moment, this popped up earlier and made me smile. I never knew we had a movie star around these parts.
