I'd say Activision shelled out a lot of cash to get those promotions going. Any attempt to revive a once great video game franchise that's becoming stagnant and old, repeating itself again and again.

Onto something that doesn't suck though, this week's DLC! Breaking Benjamin and Alice in Chains are an instant buy for me! Been waiting ages for Would?, and The Diary of Jane and So Cold are just an added bonus!

    Been waiting ages for Would?,

Hells yes had the opening riff in my head all day :D

Well I got would? and Rooster today.

    Rooster is brill!!!

    Would? ........ Bitterly disappointed
The mix in the levels on the guitar track is aweful, the chorus is just pure noise !!!! Maybe just my setup ? Although I doubt that as everything else sounds fine. :(

Rock Band DLC Additions for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 System and Wii

Nashville-based rockers The Raconteurs, composed of Jack White, Brendan Benson, Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler, will release three songs for Rock Band Oct. 6. "The Raconteurs Pack 01" features "Steady, As She Goes" from the group’s first album, Broken Boy Soldiers, which was nominated for two Grammy Awards; as well as "Many Shades of Black" and "Salute Your Solution," from the group's Grammy Award-winning second album, Consolers of the Lonely.

Additionally, tracks from Alanis Morissette and The Flobots will be featured for DLC next week, and Electric Six also makes their Rock Band debut. The Detroit natives offer up a three pack of songs for the Rock Band Music Store and will kick off a U.S. and UK tour Oct. 14.

Available on Xbox 360 and Wii (Oct. 6) and PlayStation 3 system (Oct. 8):

    • The Raconteurs – “Many Shades of Black”
    • The Raconteurs – “Salute Your Solution”
    • The Raconteurs – “Steady, As She Goes”
    • Alanis Morissette – “Head Over Feet”
    • Alanis Morissette – “Ironic”
    • Electric Six – “Dance Epidemic”
    • Electric Six – “Gay Bar”
    • Electric Six – “I Don’t Like You”
    • The Flobots – “Handlebars”

(All tracks are original master recordings)

These tracks will be available for purchase as “The Raconteurs Pack 01,” “Electric Six Pack 01” and as individual tracks on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 system and as individual tracks on Wii.

    Electric Six

I like dance epidemic but will be checking the videos of it b4 i consider it.
Electric 6 had some good tunes on the 1st 2 of their albums, these have to be very poor choices from them overall. Dance commander would have been sweet. Maybe Danger ! High Voltage is out already but don't recall seeing it. And their cover of radio ga ga would have been cool also. Oh well :(

Did anyone pick up the freezepop pack? It's absolutely flipping awesome... but NOT as awesome as the email I got from harmonix this week about the MOTHER FLIPPING QUEEN DLC that's coming to Rock Band!!! Surely this is the end of GH as we know it??

Sorry to go a little OT , well maybe not , didnt want to start a new thread

The Metal Track pack was quietly released on the 22nd Sept.
    Artist Song Title
    1. All That Remains Two Weeks
    2. At the Gates Blinded By Fear
    3. Black Tide ShockWave
    4. Blue Oyster Cult Transmaniacon MC*
    5. Bullet For My Valentine Waking the Demon
    6. Children of Bodom Are You Dead Yet
    7. Evile Thrasher
    8. Godsmack I Stand Alone
    9. The Haunted D.O.A.
    10. Hawkwind Master Of The Universe*
    11. I Mother Earth Levitate*
    12. In This Moment Forever
    13. Judas Priest Screaming for Vengeance
    14. Lacuna Coil Closer
    15. Lamb of God Laid to Rest
    16. Motörhead Killed by Death*

    18. Queens of the Stone Age 3’s & 7’s
    19. Rage Against The Machine Bulls On Parade*
    20. Yngwie Malmsteen Red Devil

I haven't actually seen this in a single shop, mind you I'd really be only willing to pay max €20 for it anyway and doubt I'd get it for that much anywhere.

Just as a matter of interest does anyone know if the track packs have codes to import to RB2 or is a license like RB1?

What do the stars mean on certain songs?

    Exclusives:

Edit: After doing some investigations seems that the metal pack will be going the same route as track pack 1, country and classic rock packs and there will be no pal release and the US discs are not region free :(

Available on Xbox 360 and Wii (Oct. 13) and PlayStation 3 system (Oct. 15):

    • Motörhead – “(We Are) The Road Crew ‘08”
    • Tenacious D – “The Metal”
    • Testament – “More Than Meets the Eye”
    • Black Tide – “Show Me the Way”
    • Blink-182 – “What’s My Age Again?”
    • Joe Satriani – “Satch Boogie”

    • Kansas – “Point of Know Return” (Live from Two for the Show)

Nothing of major interest for me in that list. Nice to see more blink and L7 but will probably pass on those songs. Be interesting to see the charting on satch boogie though

Might pick up those Kansas and Satch tracks. We'll see

Roll on Queen, they should have taken more Judas Priest from the Brutal Legend soundtrack. :(

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,586 ✭✭✭cedomination

A Brutal Legend pack would be awesome!

A Brutal Legend pack would be awesome!

The pack they're bringing out is the Brutal Legend Track Pack, just doesn't say it in the post previously. It's why I complained about the lack of more Priest since they're on the soundtrack too!

*Cough*...Queen pack today! See D4RK ONION's post for a tracklist. I'll be downloading it ASAP!

Wouldn't be a fan of the band, just never listened to them, but it's a very fun song to play.

    MORE Foo Fighters??!!

  • Moderators Posts: 8,678 ✭✭✭D4RK ONION

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,126 ✭✭✭✭calex71

ah I liked their 1st 3 albums tuned out after that, but agreed on the MORE foo fighters part, those nirvana songs could be pretty fun to play though, well not about a girl , blew and school, negative creep would have better though.

Harmonix podcasts mentions next weeks DLC:

    White Stripes:
Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground
Girl, You Have No Faith in Medicine
    Icky Thump

The Damned - Smash It Up
    Kasabian - Club Foot

Love that Kasabain song, definite buy for me.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,126 ✭✭✭✭calex71

Oooh ooh smash it up, smash it up, smash it up :D f**kin sweet :)

don't care for the rest though,

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,485 ✭✭✭✭Banjo

Haven't played any White Stripes on RB / GH before, love Dead Leaves but I'd be concerned about how it'll work in the game - do they map the low guitar parts for the bass or do you just send the bass player off to the fridge for Beers when a Stripes song comes up? Can't imagine it's too exciting for the drummer either...
