Thursday, 4 December, 2025 __ Forecasts for Ireland

TRENDS ... Generally unsettled and mild with very mild temperatures arriving next week, possibly near record warmth at times then. Frequent rain and a few brighter spells, moderate south to southwest winds.

    FORECASTS

TODAY will become partly cloudy and rather breezy at times with passing showers, some with hail and thunder. Highs 8 to 10 C.
TONIGHT will be partly cloudy to overcast with occasional rain, fog and mist, lows 1 to 4 C. Milder after midnight in western counties as stronger winds develop.
FRIDAY mostly cloudy with intervals of rain turning quite heavy around late morning and afternoon, some partial clearing in the southwest by late afternoon, winds south to southwest 50 to 80 km/hr with higher gusts on south coast at times, highs 10 to 13 C.
SATURDAY partly cloudy, passing showers, lows near 4 C and highs 9 to 12 C.
SUNDAY windy with occasional rain, lows near 7 C and highs near 12 C.
Next week will bring an even milder flow from near the Azores and temperatures could hit 15 or 16 C on some days with occasional bursts of thundery rain and strong southerly winds.

My local weather on Wednesday was overcast and foggy with temperatures steady around -1 C. It was one of those rare days where I never stepped outside, had the lights on all day it was so gloomy (think I saw Charles Dickens walk by at one point).
