I suggest you buy unbelievably expensive bars, e.g. Zipp. Then you'll find them perfectly adequate and practically irreplaceable.

Sounds like a plan! (just added these babies to my wishlist, I get nauseous whenever the mouse gets anywhere near the Buy button though).

I have a 10% off voucher expiring on 15 October that I won't be using. Not sure how transferable it is but you are welcome to it (just says you have to enter my e-mail address which I can give you).

Cheers manwithaplan, I got one too, mine expires on 15th November (which is handier than one that's out of date:)).

It's the first voucher I've received from CRC, thought it might be something to do with the fact that I've currently got €4.5k worth of stuff in my wishlist (actually make that €5.25k with the addition of those Controltech bars!), but seems everyone got one.

Bought a pair of dhb padless roubaix bib tights for 40 imperial pounds. Other than putting them on in the kitchen to give the kids a laugh, I haven't tested them yet. Pretty good fit though and seem fleecy warm. Not sure if Raam will let me wear them with my assos jacket though.

I expect a pair of pro tarmac neoprene overshoes to be waiting for me at home later.

As a result of these and a number of other purchases, I am ready to kick winter's ass.

I'm blaming my gf for this one, she offered her bike (which can take 35mm tyres) for winter and said perhaps I should look into getting proper winter tyres.

Hrm. Come to think of it, it may have been a trap.

when you gonna use those tyres ? they'll be wrecked after a couple of miles of tarmac (if thats ice studs i see in them )

Not true. The studs love you long time. Great tyres. Roll on the snow, much smugness awaits.

really i thought theyd just rip out, be pretty slippy if your in mixed conditions though (but i gues its six of one and half a dozen of the other at that point)

No, they're completely fine on tarmac, since the studs hook into the surface irregularities. They're only slippy on ceramic tiles, but I generally dismount for the part of my commute that crosses the kitchen floor. :pac:

I got a pair in the snowpocalypse earlier this year, but they arrived after the snow had passed. Since then I've been looking forward to the giant smug grin I'll have when it snows this year, rolling into work like the michelin man :)

Where do you buy Rapha? Usual suspects don't stock 'em!

I like that collar, it'd make a perfect Christmas pressie for my missus. She was complaining about her neck being cold coming down the Shay Elliot yesterday.
