Oddly enough, the Nazis thought lots of people should be put up against a wall and shot too. People they didn't like.

(p.s. I think the BNP is a dangerous and sinister organisation. I'm just pointing out that shooting them would make us like them, only worse because we'd be doing it in the name of freedom)

OK primates, or more specifically apes, form into bands. Within the band everything is more or less grand and they co-operate with one another. However, if they come across another band they will go to war on this 'out group' and try to wipe it out.

Nationalism and flag waving is just a perversion of this instinct. It's part of the binding behaviour of the 'in group'. So long as there is an 'in group' there have to be 'out groups'. I can't for the life of me understand why anybody would be proud of a bit of coloured material that displays they are part of some in group. It's ape like behaviour and we can do better than that IMO.

It could also be said that through the thousands of years of our evolution, that we developed into distinct races and settled in specific areas, and developed culture and specific separate identities therefore making things like language, tradition be represented by a flag, your idea that nationalism and and nationality is invalid due to us coming from apes is laughable

isent this about the BNP ? have any of you met one ?i can assure you that these people play on peoples fear ,if some one tells you that the reason you are unemployed /your house is now worth less/ the crime rate is up/the dole is being abused you may well believe them when they blame other races [in the case of the BNP is the muslim ] as i say i lived amongst them for a number of years, they are a very nasty people.

Very true, and they do have quite a bit of support. I also fear that with the problems the world is facing now, their support will only grow.

they are now getting cleaver the black/ethnic races in the UK are now well intergrated [there are even a few in the BNP] its certainly the muslim they are after, because of law they cannot just publicly say it because it would leave them open to prosecution -notice how the party is strong in the high asian areas of the UK .not the black area ?

I dont think Libertas could be roped in with the BNP and the Nazis, true they are euro sceptics, but hardly far right white supremacists

Yes, that could be said, and the people saying it are called racialists. It's what underpins every nationalism and is utter nonsense.

You can argue against science if you like, but "race" is a cultural construct made up by apes for the sake of in-group cohesion.

Well I know what I think of the BNP (not very positive) but what does the BNP think of its members? From an internal BNP document:
    they can't write proper English
get carried away with conspiracy theories
oddballs, Walter Mitty characters, compulsive liars and born troublemakers
Even the BNP hates the BNP.
    Report here

I am a little worried by the possible gains they'll make in the north east of the UK in the European elections (they have no chance in my area hopefully).

They seem to make great gains in areas where immigration has resulted in violent,racist,non-white ghettos.
Funny that,English people trying to stop thier country turning into South Central LA or downtown Baghdad.

I wouldn't have any time for the BNP, because I like people.

Charlie Brooker has a great idea here:

'Americans and Brits invade Iraq, cause chaos, therefore the BNP are right'

I can see a hole or three in that one.

I was looking through the Member List for the BNP, and theres a few from the North on it. It`s worrying, tbh. The number of professionals is shocking too. They seem to be reaching more people.

    Scumbags.

Racist imbeciles using lame rhetoric like 'preserving our cultural identity' to legitimize their bizarre right-wing bigotry.

Their whole anti-Muslim tirade speaks volume about their supporters- Sun-reading, Sky News- watching fools, who would rather scape-goat anybody 'different' than sort out their own problems, and are afraid of whoever they're told to fear.

God help us if we get a party like that here.

You've not quite grasped what I'm saying. Pride in a bit of mere cloth is what makes a monkey of all nationalists everywhere.

I had a look one day for a chuckle all the comments on the site were clearly from the uneducated classes who blame their own poverty on immigrants.
Foolish calls for britain to exit the eu this very second, try to get the free state to join the union again (despite the troubles caused by britaims hold on 6of our counties)
A party for racists and idiot thugs

These so-called ghettos are not a result of immigration as much as they are a result of poor immigrant opportunity and poor government provision.

I'm Irish, I live in England. If the BNP had their way (don't be fooled by thier approach to a united anti-eu federation of Britain and Ireland), id be turfed out of the country along with every other world citizen without a thought. Anyone who isn't 'white and british' doesn't belong according to the BNP. It has nothing to do with economy, nothing to do with cultural preservation, nothing to do with national pride, but everything to do with racism.

Found another interesting article in the BBC news today here that contradicts the BNP's economical argument for closing borders:

They are a pack of scum, and should keep their noses out of Irish affairs, people overwhemling supported a national socialist party in a certain European country back in the 30's,didnt go so well, and we all learned a leason,I doubt it will happen again

well this sort of party is gaining support all over europe in light of the economic crisis. as i read on another site, if sinn fein had a split, and they played the anti-immigration card, they would get heavy support here in Ireland.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,191 ✭✭✭✭Latchy

There's only one Ireland, and there is only one Irish people, no matter how many states it suits the British to divide this country into. Ireland can survive without such "friends" as you people and your "British Isles" supremacist ideology which seeks to put us, the Irish people, faoi chois once again.

Long live the EU - and bring on Lisbon II, Libertas/BNP!

The mind boggles how you can see so much into one word 'Brethern ' and I haven't a clue what your on about with '' you people '' .Who ? You obiously haven't read the whole thread either .

(Dublin born and bread btw )

You're right. The 13th Division of the SS was in Croatia at the time.
Aren't we lucky they were ?

(Which has nothing to do with the The Presence of red Indians on Omaha beach )

They already had a split in 06/07,a separate group called Eirigi was created, they claimed Sinn Fein wasnt socialist enough, you wont find many in Sinn Fein that are right wing in anyway, they are commited socialists trust me
