    D'Artagnans a solid pick given luck in-running
    D'Artagnans Dream
    2.40 Kempton
    1pt win 7-2 (general)

Astep up to 1m4f has brought plenty of improvement but little luck on his last two starts at Lingfield, writes Andrew Barr.

First time he bumped into the progressive Arty Crafty but beat the rest in good style with a late run, then last time the waiting tactics were overdone and he came home strongly after getting hampered. The switch to Kempton may well suit his tactics and he is better drawn than main rival Sircozy.

Andrew Barr has also put up Silk Street (3.10 Kempton) on his private service today. 7-2 generally still available. ;)

Had been watching the betting earlier, D'Artagnans Dream was been heavily backed well before they posted the time of race

The tip for D'artagnan's Dream must have been released on the premium phone rate service at 12, so some people would obviously have got the jump on people using the internet

I'm not sure if it is advertised as I get his tips off of the Relayline. He generally averages 1 bet a day at anything from around 2-1 to 6-1 (so we're not talking large odds here). I've been following him for about 4 months and his strike rate is pretty impressive at around 35%.

I've just made some enquiries about this. As mentioned in the previous response, the Andrew Barr tips that I've been following are advertised on the Relayline. My assumption was that they were from a private service.

Apparently they are not (which answers the previous enquiries). The selections published are actually his tips for the racing week ahead. These are published in The Racing Post Weekender under his "Mark Your Card" column which is published on a Wednesday.

Something else I've discovered tonight which is a bit annoying. Silk Street was advertised on the Relayline as his selection today. I was a bit puzzled as it showed the horse running in the 2.40 @Kempton. After going over the racecard I found out that the correct time of running was actually in the 3.10. I took it on face value as an error and backed it anyway.

A couple of hours later, Andrew Barr's Pricewise Extra tip was put up in the 2.40. This makes me think that the horse listed on the Relayline was an error and his Weekender selection was actually the same horse offered up on Pricewise Extra! This is not the first time that the Relayline have made a mistake like this.

So, it looks as though Barr has offered up a tip from his column in the Weekender from last Wednesday for his PWE extra column today. Not sure that I agree with that but there you go!

Having said that, Barr's record since I have been following him is very good and rather than rely on the Relayline, I think I'll just make sure I get a copy of the RP Weekender on a Wednesday...

Turn On The Style will be tough to beat at Southwell
    Turn On The Style
    2.50 Southwell
    1pt win at 5-2 generally
There's little doubt that Turn On The Style is good enough to win this 5f conditions race. The big question is whether he can show something close to his best form on this return from a 255-day absence, writes Andrew Barr.
The good news is that John Balding reports him to have plenty of work, and the trainer's horses have hit form in recent days, his last two runners yielding a winner and a short-head second.
Whereas Turn On The Style goes well on fibresand, Strike Up The Band has that to prove, while Rowe Park has a tough task trying to concede 5lb.

Bogside's stamina could be a profitable asset
    Bogside Theatre
    3.20 Southwell
    1pt win at 12-1 generally
With the in-form market leaders Lucky Punt and Trip The Light arguably better at shorter, and both up in the weights after good recent runs, it could pay to take a chance on a strong stayer at bigger odds, writes Andrew Barr.
Bogside Theatre certainly scores in that department, having run consistently well in 2m handicaps in 2008 and ending on a mark of 95. That is now down to 80 after three heavy defeats on the Flat since returning from a dismal time over hurdles, but she hinted at finding some form again at Ayr last time in a race that has worked out well.
This switch to fibresand could really suit too, given her liking for soft ground on turf.

Yeah, he didnt seem to like it from a long way out and was never travelling. His ears were flat back against his head about 6 furlongs out.

Andrew Barr tipped Deportment in the 4.10 Yarmouth from his Weekender column today. Won backed from 9-2 this morning in to 11-4. A much more sensible selection.

    Haydock 1.50 Widely Accepted 10/1

Does anyone have the write up for this selection? It seems barking mad.

I see what you mean. It has never run in a Chase before and hasnt won since 2005. First run for 6 months. I suppose it did run well fresh once and the stable are firing. I dont back Mel Colliers anyway so it doesnt really matter to me.
