I found out today that one of the 5th years in my school got a tattoo on her hip of her boyfriends name & some form of heart type situation. He got hers on his stomach someplace.

I though you cannot be serious?! But it did actually happen. I'd like to point out that they aren't together all that long, and to put it nicely she gets herself around.

I was like ffs you're like 16 max, what were you thinking?! Apparently she loves him. I'm sure you do darling, same way you looooovve everyone

Is she just dosey or is this a trend?!

There seems to be a tattoo epidemic in my school too. So classy.

That's nothing, when I was in 3rd year 2 girls in my class got their OWN NAMES tattooed on their lower backs, with a rose through it. They were about 15 ffs, and their own name? Jesus.

TY, 16 year old scumbag (no other way to describe him) got the skeleton (exactly as it is in the body) onto his back, including spine, shoulderblates, the works, just like looking at an x-ray.

Fúcking muppet of the highest order.

-a taz on one girls ankle
-a giant photo of a girls nanny tatooed on her shoulder
-a heart with wings across one girls lower back with her name in it.its huge

At least they'll still know themselves in a few years? These two will have split up by the end of the month, at the very latest! :pac:

It's not even the tattoo really I suppose, it's the fact she's tramp stamped herself, and it's not even like she'll know him in a few years, and yet will be stuck with that heap of cap on her hip. I just can't fathom her reasons!

Personally not my thing [tattoo's in general], wouldn't be caught dead with one. I know I'd hate it after 10 minutes and want a different one!

the betty boop takes the cake though...it looks so fricking weird.

A few girls in my year have them, they all seem tasteful enough I think. I'd never get one done on myself though, I don't think they look very nice.

When i was younger i wanted a tongue piercing, my friend worked in a tattoo parlour and it was free.
1 year later and over €400 spent at the dentist, i did the smart thing and i took them off.

I want a tattoo, but then i wonder how i would feel in 25yrs time-not cool!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,440 ✭✭✭✭Piste

I wouldn't mind a tongue piercing cos my boyfriend has it done and it does look quite nice! I'd want a soft ball though, dont wanna wreck my teeth!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,462 ✭✭✭Aisling(",)

One guy in my year had this huge walrus tattoo down his leg, it was amazingly good......he moved to the tute.

I am planning a few, I really want stuff on my wrists, but I also really want to be able to get a job at some stage :p

    So far I want:
A sacred heart on my chest area
A line from an Alexisonfire song 10€ goes to the person who can guess it :pac:
I have a sleeve in mind.
    A pair of swallows.
And a Koi somewhere, probably leg/side.

I'm a fairly cautious person so, I wont rush into anything, and tattoos (well done ones!) are fairly expensive, so I'm not rushing.

I've wanted a tattoo since I was about 14, and for the past year or so I've known exactly what I want. Just have to decide where I want it now, and get some cash together. People who tattoo young teenagers should have the feck fined out of them.

More Japanese/Chinese during my travels in Asia (China & Vietnam) Ive picked up a few dragon statues, and am like YEAH, except Vietnamese dragons are very nice tbh.

Since I saw Matt Heafy's sleeve I wanted one, then he got it coloured in, so his isnt very nice any more, not a HUGE colour fan tbh. Although for the Koi itd be essential in my mind.

    So asian-ee dragons :D

A guy in my year has his dead sisters name on his arm which I suppose is fair enough.

I have an absolute passion for body modification, in all its forms, so it really pains me to see these horrible and cliched tramp stamps etc. plastered on young wans. :)

Well his answer is pretty blunt "God is Dead" but thats a quote out of context, but he said it, that kinda way. Marylin Manson had a pile of Nietzsche is dead tees printed, something I quite enjoyed.

To be fair, the people who know me well will get it, the others I shant entertain :)

I'd be pretty content to answer them to be honest, there a few set people i WILL NOT discuss beliefs with, that being some relatives, complete strangers and priests, just the way it goes.

I'd say priests deal with the loss of faith fairly regularly, I just dont want to deal with it.

tbh my mum is pretty aware, like her telling me to pray about some bollócks or go to mass I tell her to feck off (Essentially :p)

My grannies on the other hand, why earlier today she called Stephen Hawkings the antichrist, no too sure of the context of that statement, but she's a bit odd. My other granny, well she "Worries" about me, and didnt like me when I had shoulder length hair :D

One girl in my class in 5th year (i think) got this celtic swirly type thing from her hips continuing down and inwards right down underneath to...herself. :o

I don't know how anyone could possibly get that done. Imagine somebody coming at your gee with a giant ink-filled needle? *shudder*

I like tattoos though. My sister has a gorgeous that she designed herself - it's a butterfly with a treble and bass clef on the wings and a sharp and a flat on the ends of the antennae. It's deadly. Wouldn't have the nerve to get one myself mind you...

just be warned, nape piercing, like most surface piercings, requires months, if not years of love, care, and getting pissed off. i've had mine a couple of years now, and it's still crusty, and still gets caught in my hair when it's tied up, and still has to be salt soaked. no swimming pools, no spontaneous swimming in rivers/lakes, no exposing it to the sun, blah blah...

you'd be surprised, i used to work for a priest, and we'd some really really enlightening conversations and lots of discussions about that stuff. don't judge books by the covers! :P (oh yeah, and im an atheist).

i duno... quick in and out... or a few hours down there...

ink would look cooler, but piercing woudl be a more pleasant experience.

Wow, this forum rules. There's people talking about Nietzsche! You guys have no idea how proud I am right now :p

I would be disowned if I ever got a tatoo. I've never seen the appeal in them really, especially the way my mood about things can change drastically over time. As for piercings, I would consider getting something done, but I don't know what!

My younger brother (he's 19 now) got his left nipple pierced a few years ago. He successfully hid it from our parents for a year and a half!

When I was 14/15 I had this big long list of various piercings I wanted to get. Thank God I'd have to wait until I'm 18 as I want none of them now, whereas before I had my heart set on all manner of metal sticking out of me!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,158 ✭✭✭donmeister

I got my ear pierced twice when I was about 15-16,its silly now when I think of it,but screw it,whats done is done.

I wanna get a few tattoo's though....not a million crappy lil ones, but just 2-3 that are really well done and are meaningful.

On a tangent one of my friends did get his nipple pierced on holiday, just for a laugh. What a dumbass, hehe

I really don't like the idea of body modification. I simply can't see why anybody would do it. Not one reason that I could properly understand, it's just weird.

Also the sight of piercings makes me feel sick, especially the more odd ones. :(
