    Ah well.
As I said earlier I was getting pessimistic even for your location.

The people that look at the buoy off the Dublin coast and see high air and dp's are not wrong.
As snowbie said this is returning maratime polar air of sorts we have.
It seems to remember what it is when it is still over land especially at night but when mixed with some sea air it capitulates.

Wrong thread for this comment but relevant none the less,If it's snow you want [does the pope fart?] I wouldnt despair yet as the athmosphere is still quite cold so as the season takes more hold, you have plenty of time for a proper polar/easterly invasion.

All rare but time will tell.

Currently clear here and very frosty still [the road is white and the ice is hard] and +1.5c dp -1c

I can see the cloud bank to my north though.

With a light shower, Dp has risen to +3C

Still a frost this morning but not a severe as last couple of days.
60mins ago it was 2.3C Dp 0.7C and a very light rain shower.

    2.6C and Dp 1.0C

Cloud from the north filling in here.
Still stuck on 1.5c though and a dewpoint steady at -0.9c

Fully expect both to rise on the arrival of any precip which should be rain.

Ground is still frozen solid here so water on that will make it even slippier!

Despite the air temp of 5.8c, there is a load of frost still around in the shade, some of it has been there since Friday! Clear blue skies and lovely sunshine. Very light NNW breeze at 1mph. Dew Points up to 3.0c.

+3.6c here atm and falling away fast - all calm and clear. High today of +4.4c.

Frost still here in the shade and ice still in the bucket for the third day in a row.

Certainly I would say that the ground conditions couldn't be much better for snow, if the weather would would get itself together!

Max. temps for that last 4 days, including today as follows:

    Monday (today) + 4.4c
    Sunday + 2.3c
    Saturday + 2.7c
    Friday + 4.6c

IMO that's really a pretty good 'cold spell' in our 'modern' winters.

    Sunday 3C
    Monday 5C (so far)
