Sleet now with literally the very odd stray flake. Temp down to 2.5c again. DP must be rising so.

4.5c here atm. Sun's out now. 997mb - really falling fast (down from 1019mb at 9pm last night - that's nearlly a 'bomb'!).

Had sleet here earlier - was up in Enniskerry in the snow - will post photos later.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,293 ✭✭✭arctictree

Arrrggh - Drizzle here now but temp still at 1.1c - thats a bit strange...

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,661 ✭✭✭✭nacho libre

winds gone north easterly now. it's quite chilly(4.2) now

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,335 ✭✭✭✭Supercell

Temperature rising rapidly surprisingly, currently 2.7°C and rising fast.
Perhaps the sensor was snow covered earlier causing artifically low readings?
Thought it would fall after dark, hopefully some sneachta left tomorrow, might go on a hike up Scarr for some proper powder stuff :D

Nope, your reading is accurate. I'm at 2.6c and rising (I have a mercury thermo which concurs). I think its the SW wind has started to pick up. Its been dead calm here for most of the day.

I'd say the mountaintops here have some serious snow depth now...

Yep 3.7°C outside now, warmest of the day, popped outside and my nose agrees with the rising temp.
In fact this would have gone down as an epic event in my days living in Rathgar!
Can't complain, loads of time left for a second run this autumn/winter/spring !!

Current temp. here 5.4c - peaked earlier at 7.1c

    994mb atm - 1019mb at 10pm last night - that's a 25mb drop in 19 hours! Anybody else record similar?

As far as I can remember, a drop of 24mb in 24hours is termed a bomb?

    Still bitter cold.

Had a Christmassy drive home with all the white mountain tops.

Prob in for a bad frost as the sky is now clear.

No snow event to speak of here or in Portlaoise either. Some sleet on the drive to work this morning, but quickly turned to rain by 1030am. Temps shot up in the afternoon to 9.2c and a total of 9.9mm fell today. Dewpoints hit a high of 8.3c also.
At work today I noticed what I thought was the low pressure centre pass overhead. So I guess it was 30 miles too far east.

    Currently 6.8c with 5.2c DP.

Congrats to all in the Snowbound east and northeast. Weathercheck got it right.
