On a BT 24MB exchange and getting this muck

    482145539.png

I know how you feel. less than 3 miles from the Blanchardstown/coolmine exchange. Just got a new modem from them and all this morning. Stuck with 6267/507 Kbps sync apparently.

For some reason, regardless fo the fact that we had a new line run in from the kerb last year, and are damned close to the exchange, we still have Line Attenuation of 49.5 dB and 24.6 dB.

    UPC 20Mb.
My computer is old and doesn't like flash.
    Flash slows it down considerably.

    Wireless:
    517055324.png

    speedtest.digiweb.ie
Download Speed: 4608 kbps (576 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 1332 kbps (166.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
    Latency: 53 ms

    Ethernet:
    517058285.png

    speedtest.digiweb.ie
    Download Speed: 19313 kbps (2414.1 KB/sec transfer rate) (2.35 MB/s)
Upload Speed: 1323 kbps (165.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
    Latency: 53 ms

Note the difference on the site with less flash.

I've downloaded at 2.4 MB/s on bittorrent and from microsoft.com.

Just signed up for 7 day trial of Vodafone 7.2Mb mobile broadband. Living in Limerick city centre.

Surely it should be better than that? :( Thought my normal internet was poor but this is only double the speed!

That's unusual for Smart, what do you get from the Smart Speed test?
    http://speedtest.smarttelecom.ie/
(Same as speedtest.net I know but it should be a different server)
